    What gets me is they put up their prices in line with The Retail Prices Index but then add on an extra 3.9 % despite making millions in profit the previous year.

    Exactly this.

    Governments make a fuss about one-off inflationary matters, such as wage rises.

    While totally ignoring something that is designed to be inflation-busting.

    I just don't get why either this Government, or the last, did not make these sorts of contracts illegal.

    Put prices up by RPI or CPI. Put prices up by a set annual amount.

    But not both.
