    This day last year

    "Rather unusually, there were three players who had win doubles last night.

    The best (by value) was @grinddd who won both Main & Turbo, & that was the 2nd time he's won Turbo in 5 nights. To win last night's Main he had to beat the Sky Poker News & TV Correspondent @HAYSIE who, it hurts to admit, does annoying well in the Main. 7th in the Main was @NOSTRI who seems to be doing OK so far this year, having already secured wins in the £1k Rebuy BH & the new £500 BH.

    Our second win doubler last night was @Drewett who took down two MTT's which began 15 minutes apart, Sheriff & Mega. Special mention in Sheriff goes to @DoubleMe who was runner-up, playing way above his usual stakes. Worked out nicely for him, he played all four £3 Sheriff Satellites, so total cost = £12, won one, & ended up taking home £290. 2nd in Mega was @glencoelad who was also runner-up in a mid-afternoon £200 BH.

    Our third double winner of the night was our friend @bigfatfish who is neither big nor fat. He took Quickdraw & 9 @ 9. He has had a great start to the year & currently sits 2nd to @ozzieowen in the Sky Poker 2024 MTT Leaderboard on Sharky.

    Talking of the Sharky MTT Leaderboard, right behind @bigfatfish is @chrisdonkb who won last night's £1k Rebuy & was 4th in MidEx.

    The new £500 BH (which covered, but only just) went to @goldnballz who played an astonishing variety of different games & formats last night, including £1, £2 & £3 Russian Roulettes. I guess he was scrambling to secure a stack in Stack Builder. (He has 2,000).

    @kolomish took 7 @ 7 again, that's at least the third time, he does OK in the £1k BH too.

    @JokerJim95 completed a 12 month hat-trick of MidEx victories.

    @tomgoodun had another decent result, finishing 2nd in the PLO8 who was won by @mattnew who finished 7th the previous night."

    Morning.

    MTT traffic was something of a curate's egg last night. Mostly good, especially the £4k Main which made just shy of £5,000 & the £1k Quickdraw which came in at a surprising £1,720, but balanced by small misses in Mini (£70) & Reload (£105).

    @Drewett won the Main & in the process secured his biggest cash since he ran 1st in Summit on 17th September last year. Has a superb record in the Sunday Major, having won it 3 times, been 4th 3 times & 6th 3 times. In 2nd place was the much-improved @Chalky666 making his 2nd Main Event FT of 2025, & of course don't forget he won TWO UKOPS Events on Boxing Day. Apparently the final hand Heads Up last night was somewhat com with Chalky having K-K & somehow losing to the super-dominated K-Q. Gotta love the pokers.

    @PokerEsse won the Mini, that win coming exactly two years and a day since he won a Gold Rush Mini. Mainly a 1-tabler, usually the Mini & it seems to work well for him. As Minis go, it was a tough FT with the likes of @Limp2Lose @ILIKE2FISH & @FlynTimber all in the Top 6.

    As usual, Sheriff was a heavy-hitter-fest & it was @Limp2lose who heavy-hitted-hardest. Runner-upper was @BSquelch who had a mid-summer heater last year when winning a Major, a Mega, & 3rd in Summit all in the space of a few weeks. Only plays MTT's here intermittently, last night being his first for a month. @NChanning had an interesting session, finishing 3rd no less than 3 times - in a 6pm £500 BH, in Sheriff & in Turbo. Not sure many or even any player made more Sheriff FT's than Neil did in 2024. The FT was rounded off by @ChipDiddy0 (won a Summit in November) @Awoken (who won Summit on Tuesday) & @loololollo who had two nice wins last night, taking both the Rebuy BH & 9 @ 9.

    The wonderfully consistent @LittleGJ was on site most of the day playing a mix of MTT's & DYM's & as usual did OK, winning two decent MTT's - the £800 BH & an earlier £150 BH, plus he was 7th in the Mini. I noticed he got dog's abuse from some cretin in a DYM but just rose above it like a proper grown-up.

    It's been a month since @__Assassin played an MTT but he showed up last night & was rewarded with 1st place in 7 @ 7.

    @minter123 was the Mega winner, his best success since winning Xmas UKOPS 01 a fortnight ago.

    @wedgedup has been here 5 years without becoming familiar with the winner's enclosure but has only played 198 MTT's in that time. Made the breakthrough last night & won Reload. Only other featured MTT mention was 3rd - also in Reload - 3 weeks ago.

    @zoot made last Saturday's Sharpshooter Main FT & that return to form was confirmed last night with 1st place in a hot Turbo FT which included @Super_Oli @NChanning @loosecamel & burly Scot @roddy28. Prior to that the last win I can find for Mr @zoot was a 2021 Mega.

    Finally, a good session for @Alexvoj who won a 5.30pm £250 BH & then took MidEx around 8 hours later.

    Phew, I hope that is easier to read than it was to write, I'm really not feeling it today. Back tomorrow, hopefully re-energised & full of zing & zest.

    Is there any credit to be had by ALWAYS being knocked out by the eventual winner? yuk

    @HUGHMANS

    It's one of those weird psychological things - somehow there feels a certain consolation to be busted by the eventual winner.

    Especially if it's a bad beat.
