"Numbers were very healthy indeed, right across the board, with the £8,000 Avenger Main making a lovely £9,720.
1st place, including bounties, amounted to £1,943 with the recipient being Paul Gascoigne lookalike & soundalike @MikeyW94. Has a wonderful CV here, including a whole bunch of UKOPS wins, several of which were High Rollers, several Summits & BWBH's, numerous Mains & this was his 2nd Avenger. Oddly, I don't think he's ever won the Major.
@shirley02who seems to do just fine took the Mini. In 3rd was @NOSTRIwho is enjoying a great start to 2024, with 7 FT's so far, not bad when you consider he does not play every night as he has a wife.
The £110 entry BWBH went to @iguanawho has only been here a week & who won their seat via a £2.40 Frenzy. Ran 5th in Turbo too. One for the (virtual) notebook. A seriously tough FT in BWBH too, including @Itsover4u@Natnug@wilkly28@Curt360x27 & @peiratis88.
@Vertigowon the 9 @ 9 for the second time. Is building a very decent CV here including wins in UKOPS (twice), a Hitman Main, and of course 2nd in an SPT at Manchester.
A year ago today @Morris707 won Sharpshooter Main, & he celebrated last night by winning the new £500 BH.
@SOHOT44 has only been here a month & played just 44 MTT's, & was taking his first featured MTT win last night in MidEx. Runner-up was @Baboon26 who is doing a bit of a 2024 Challenge which you can follow on Twitter by following @Baboon26sky
That will have to do for today you will be relieved to hear. Enjoy your Saturday."
The recent uptick in numbers continues with the £4,000 Main coming in one entry shy of £6,000 & numbers generally frothy right across the board, although there were two party poopers (Mini & MidEx) which missed by a combined total of £150.
Winner of that Main was @style2737 & in the process he became the first player to win two Main Events in 2025, as he also won last week's Hitman too. Not bad considering that he's primarily a cash-game player. I happened to have the dubious pleasure of being seated next to him at DTD recently & I must say he was an absolute Gent. He went on to finish 7th & I went on to finish 0th. Fancy that. Spare a thought for last night's runner-up @alfarch30 who occupied the same spot in Sunday's £5k BH. On that occasion he bumped into @lJAMESl whilst last night it was @style2737, not much you can do when you bump into a pair of zingers like those two.
Late last night I had a quick look at the MTT lobbies to see what was what & it was Heads Up in the Mini with @Super_Oli having a huge lead over @KOBAC so it was a bit of a shock this morning to see @KOBAC had somehow overturned the deficit & grabbed the win. He had a really good night actually, as he also nicked £40 for 4th in the Rewards Freeroll, & was 4th in Mega too. Think his last significant win was a 9 @ 9 last Autumn. Returning to @Super_oliI was quite surprised to see his last Featured MTT win (on Sky Poker) was almost 3 months ago, 13th October to be precise, when he won a 9 @ 9. Who'd have thought?
In Sheriff it was very much business as usual with @loololollo getting the nod ahead of a bunch of the Usual Suspects, although @Rehan2010 did exceptionally well to finish 4th. In 5th was @cabbaz which gives me the opportunity to congratulate him on winning an IPT Sidey in Galway for an even €5,000 last weekend. That's him looking like, well, like he's just won 5 bags. You may also recognise several other members of the Sky Poker Massive including the good-looking one & the plump guy with the ginger beard.
Sheriff winner@loololollo also won the Rebuy BH for the 2nd straight night, & in fact had a double double as he won two Featured MTT's for the 2nd straight night. He's some player.
Winning 7 @ 7 for his first Featured MTT victory of 2025 was young @Swifteyyeu and I'm sure there will be plenty more, he strikes me as a decent prospect especially considering his tender years.
@ughx3000cx won Mega & was 2nd in Midex. What a start he's made to 2025, he's already won Mega twice, 9 @ 9 once, been 2nd in Main & MidEx 2nd in Reload (twice) & 2nd in 9 @ 9 (also twice).
Reload went to @onepara26 who I suppose could either be an ex-soldier or some sort of writer. I seem to recall he used to be a regular in the old Forum Triple Takedown.
Having only returned on Wednesday from a 10 day break, @idiot930 got the win in MidEx. With an alias like that I bet the fella gets some shocking stick at the tables.
That's it for today. Once I've finished my bits & bobs I'm going back to bed. It should be illegal to be this cold, it's still -5c here in Derbyshire at midday.
