"A lovely busy night last night, picks of the bunch being £6,000 Sharpy Main (£7,560), & the £1,000 Sheriff which more than doubled guarantee at £2,150. It's only a few weeks since Sheriff went from 2 to 5 nights a week & I don't think it's missed once yet. It's been a very long time since Sheriff exceeded £2,000. That new £500 BH also continues to perform above expectations, making £740 last night.
@roytheboy7 took that big Sharpy Main, just over a month since he took down the Avenger Main, so that's a decent double. Big congrats to @jeni82 in 2nd for £818, easily their biggest result in 6 years & ~9,700 MTT's, that must have felt really good, & their Sharky graph is getting ever steeper.
@Bmw335car drove to victory in the Mini, which might be a PB, with the oh-so-consistent @ILIKE2FISHin 2nd. Another with much-improved results of late is @mumsiewho was 4th - the 2nd time he's been 4th in the Mini in 5 nights, as he did it in Tuesday's Gold Rush Mini too.
@NOSTRIis having what might be his most consistent week ever & won the Rebuy BH. The previous night he was 3rd in a big Avenger Mini, just days after he was 3rd in Reload & 2nd in 9 @ 9.
@loololollo had (yet another) solid night, 1st in Mega, 4th in Rebuy BH & 5th in Turbo.
The supersized Sheriff went, fittingly I'd say, to @destinycod who emerged top of a very high quality podium above @SwannLoL & @AlexaAJ.
I must mention @rainallday who had a most satisfactory session. Won Quickdraw having taken down a mid-afternoon £300 BH, 3rd in a £500 BH & a deep run + a few bob in the Main.
Yesterday I mentioned that @Baboon26 was doing a bit of a 2024 self-improvement challenge & ran 2nd in MidEx, well last night he went a spot better & took the win. Going well so far then.
That'll have to do for today, golf, football NFL & Snooker await on a fabulous day of sport."
In the run-up to Christmas I never much enjoyed reporting on some pretty dreadful nights for MTT traffic but never swerved it, so I make no excuses for highlighting how good numbers have been for the last week, & last night exceeded them all. Everything covered handsomely, no overlay to be seen, & here's a few examples of how well things went last night;
£1,000 Rebuy BH made £1,715
£6,000 Main made £8,940
£3,000 Mini made £3,880
£1,000 Mega made £1,420
£4,000 BWBH made £5,700
£1,000 Turbo made £1,650
£1,000 Quickdraw made £2,220
Clearly, the terrible weather contributed immensely. I'm guessing here, but I'd say that's the best night for MTT traffic in well over a year & I fancy it'll be a while before we see such numbers again.
Starting with that huge Avenger Main & it was @freddy6618who took the win & some £1,630, which is far & away his biggest ever result. Has some decent results on his card, especially in 2021, & has multiple wins in Mega, Turbo, 7 @ 7 & 9 @ 9 but never anything of this magnitude. Well done Freddy. The in-form @Iguana was 2nd for ~£940 with 3rd & £730 going to @ra1d. As many of you know, a few players donated free entries to @mumsie by way of thanks for his selfless Community efforts, which he put towards this, & he was repaid with a deep run into 47th & just shy of £50 in Head Prizes.
@OXBOWLER began the evening by pinching £20 in the Rewards Freeroll then went on to win the Mini which was worth almost £700 to him. That's the 3rd time he's won Mini Avenger, he also won it's predecessor several times & overall he's won 8 or 10 Minis. His best ever score was all the way back in 2009 when he collected over £4,000 for winning a £55 affair - I think it was PRIMO - that was televised & attracted over 600 runners. Those were the days. 2nd last night was @Card4Life which was his best result since running deep in a UKOPS High Roller last November. 4th was @GREGSTER who later ran 2nd in Quickdraw & 3rd in a £150 Timed. He seems to revel in Timed Tourneys & has done very well in 4 or 5 of them this week alone from a small sample size.
We don't see much of Melty aka @chicknMelt these days, I think his main interest these days is in digital currency - Bitcoin & the like I suppose - but when he makes the occasional guest appearance here he still gets the lot more often than not & last night he seized control of BWBH & powered to the win. He collected around £1,500 for his efforts, which is not exactly chicken-feed. Actually, it IS chicken feed come to think of it. Over the years he might just be one of the biggest winners on Sky Poker in MTT's, certainly amongst the top 4 or 5. His best two scores were worth a combined £14,000 & were both for winning UKOPS High Rollers & he also has 4 cashes each over £4,000 for winning Sunday Majors/Super Rollers. Ridiculously talented, & a decent bloke too. Spare a thought for runner-up @Iguana though as he was also 2nd in Avenger Main. I mean, 2nd & 2nd in the two biggies is lovely, but he's bound to be thinking "if only....".
The evening began with a win in the £800 BH for @isshe who is not to be confused with the MidEx winner @WHO_IS_SHE. Note neither alias has the necessary question mark appended (software limitations one assumes) which annoys me far far more than it should.
In mid-December @hugo269 ran 4th in a 7 @ 7 & a few days later disappeared, only returning last night, but it worked out well as he won it this time.
Rebuy BH went to @mildsteal0for which he collected some £350, a far cry from the £11,000 he picked up for 2nd in a 2018 SPT Manchester, seen here in his blue wooly raking in another pot....
2nd to him - last night, not at the SPT - was our man @Shrimpy28 who does not play too often these days, partly due to family, partly because he cba, but he still retains his ability when he puts his mid to it as he won a Sharpshooter Main around 6 weeks ago. Relative newbie @Frankson8 was 3rd, his best result to date was winning a 9 @ 9 last month. On the way to finishing 3rd he managed to incur the wrath of @terrytwomore, who'd have thought? @Frankson8 plays a ridiculously high volume of satellites & MTT's, in the 24 hours to around 0900 this morning he played over 50 games. Goodness me, whatever happened to less is more?
@Awoken is bang in form & notched up a brace of wins, firstly taking Quickdraw, & then a post-Midnight £300 BH.
@Charliepop seems to do well in January, this week last year he won a MidEx, last night he took 1st place Reload.
After joining Sky Poker just before Christmas & playing just 20 games so far, @jakeboy secured his first win last night, taking the Turbo. No surprise really as he made the FT of UKOPS 01 on Boxing Day so he clearly has ability & might well turn out to be anything.
I think that's enough - more than enough in fact - for a Saturday, so that's me done.
