"A little quieter than of late, with a few dribs & drabs of overlay scattered around.
@Super_Oli really was super last night with a whole string of results, best of which was winning Predator Main, on top of which he was 4th in the £1k Rebuy BH, 5th in the Mega, and to demonstrate his versatility, 4th in the 19.18 PLO8. Fun session for a fun guy. In 5th was @HAYSIE. He gets a lot of stick - thoroughly deserved, obv - but I wonder how many players have made more Main Event FT's than HAYSIE? Been here forever, obv, but he must have made hundreds of them. It's such a shame he's so annoying, though most old people are.
@Colemacy is a very infrequent visitor but having won a Mini last Autumn he repeated the trick last night. Behind him there was a proper dust-up with @Duesenberg @aynaricol & @Collabo all squabbling over the other two Podium spots.
The unpredictable @Duesenberg returned in style on Monday & won Mega, disappeared on Tuesday, & was back last night - & won Mega again. As I already noted, he was 2nd in last night's Mini too. He'll probably vanish now for the next 6 months. He probably runs @HAYSIE close in the Awkward Stakes.
There were some popular winners last night, none more so than in the 9 @ 9 which went to Sam aka @IVIystical. All being well he's in for a fabulous year one way & another.
@StayOrGo won Quickdraw, was 3rd in MidEx & won satellites to both Main & Mega.
@235467 seems to be in fine form & had a nice win double, a £500 BH @ 6pm plus the Rebuy BH.
Having already won it at least 6 or 7 times, @XTUCKERX won it again last night."
Much better weather combined with a superb slate of Premier League fixtures - all televised - combined to impact MTT traffic last night. The recent frothy numbers were absent, two of the Featured MTT's missed - albeit by very small amounts & numbers generally only covered guarantees by small amounts with the exception of the £1,000 Quickdraw which came in at £1,660.
@BLUESTONES got the better of a high-class Main Event FT. On Monday he won entry to the Main via a £7.20 satellite but finished way down the field, but after winning his seat again the same way last night he got the win. Been here for ~12 years & as far as I can tell best previous results have been 5th in a Predator Main last November, & 1st in a 2020 Gold Rush Mini. As indicated earlier, a strong FT that included @newdaddy the consistent & improving @ughx3000cx @fishhhhh @g0d92 & @Tedson, more on whom later. Some might argue that @g0d92 was a little outclassed here but a glance at his CV suggests otherwise, made 4 Main Event FT's in 2024, winning two of them (Hitman in June, Sharpshooter in November) & was runner-up in a Major in 2022.
@reeler won the Mini. Despite only 20% of his play being MTT's - the balance being in cash games - MTT's are where he makes most of his money, & he does very well right across the range of buy-ins that he plays. In 3rd was our man @Tedson & as he also made the FT of the Main (6th) he collects a modicum of FTJ cash, £150 to be exact. As regular readers & MTT-ers know this guy is different gravy, & so maybe worth noting that he played 6 MTT's last night from which he made 4 FT's - Main, Mini, Mega & Summit finishing 6th, 3rd, 6th & 2nd respectively. We mere mortals can but dream.
@destinycod is not one to be bothered about towering reputations & he took 1st place in the £110 Summit ahead of that man @Tedson. I'd much enjoy watching those two slog it out Heads Up. Playing MTT's here for the first time in a week, @fishhhhh who was 4th in the Main was 3rd here.
A few years ago at an SPT in Glasgow I got to share a table with @MARK277 who was huge fun & wonderful company so I'm always pleased to see him do well. Last night he won the £800 BH & was 4th in 7 @ 7, which were the only 2 MTT's he played, so that 2 FT's from 2 MTT's. Generally does well in the Mini which I think he's won 10 or more times, & he won his first Main last year, a Hitman in mid-August.
@Mumbledore who has been here almost 2 years now is predominantly a cash game player but has started to do well in MTT's & having won Saturday's £800 BH registered another win last night, taking the 7 @ 7 with @WestwardHo in 2nd. One assumes that name is in homage to the Village of the same name, but which has an exclamation mark appended, the only town in Britain so to do. It was not until quite recently that I learned the Town name was derived from the novel by Charles Kingsley with the title of "Westward Ho!".
As far as I'm aware, there's only one other Town in the world with an exclamation mark, & it's in Canada...
Bit of a diversion there, sorry about that. Interesting though. Arguably...
After being in the doldrums for a good while @666bumpy has suddenly started to show some decent form & after 4 FT's in December (Mega, £800 BH, MidEx & Reload) perseverance paid off & he took last night's Mega from a decent FT which included recent winner @zoot @GSmith13 & @Tedson.
@sharpelbow began 2025 with a 9 @ 9 win & repeated it last night. An interesting alias which could be applied to any number of my poker acquaintances.

@jas69 is a standing dish in MidEx but by way of a change won 9 @ 9 last night.
Well it was BAU last night as he won MidEx yet again. No idea how many times he's won it but it must be into double figures.
That's it for today. Another quartet of fascinating PL fixtures this evening including the North London derby, so MTT traffic is bound to be adversely affected. What price a Red card, & who might get it? Hard to guess the answer to that, but we can be certain his Manager won't see it or will insist it was unfair.
