"Traffic was solid almost right across the board, except for Turbo which goes on the Naughty Step after overlay of £190.
3 months to the day since joining Sky Poker, @LittleLu won the Main. It was their third & biggest win following victories in Sheriff & Rewards Freeroll. Seems to be mainly a cash player, so this win is a lovely bonus. Runner-up @CHADINO was playing only their 2nd MTT this year & 7th since last August. @bigfatfishwas 5th, & also ran 4th in the Mini, so he gets himself a £150 cash bonus for the FTJ thing.
13 years & 2,451 games into their Sky :Poker journey, @samboram45 enjoyed their biggest ever win in the Mini. Has a Sharky graph like a roller-coaster but it's most certainly headed north now.
Well done to @davtheravwho had a pleasing win double, the new £500 BH & 9 @ 9. Has a very solid CV including wins in Mini Major, Mini, Mega, Rebuy BH & 9 @ 9 (three times) & 7 @ 7 also 3 times.
@Ironpump1 weighed in with 1st place in the £1k BH. Best result was a big Sunday Major back in 2021, worth ~£4,500 to him. Plays an equal amount of cash & MTT's but probably does slightly better at the latter.
Sheriff went to @Brind1 for only his 2nd featured MTT win, the other being a MidEx last Summer.
@Limp2Lose won Turbo, beating his Dad, @StayOrGo into third, Dad also ran 2nd in MidEx.
Turbo was taken down by @GREGSTER. The remarkable upturn in results by @River_Fox continued, 3rd in Quickdraw & 2nd in Mega. Both @GREGSTER & @River_Fox will be looking forward to tonight's Stack Builder Freeroll.
@INK made the 19.18 PLO8 FT for the third time in 5 night, finishing 5th, 5th & then 1st last night.
That's it, I'm done. So much for my "brief run through"..."
On an evening unencumbered by entertaining & attractive football - Burnley v Sunderland is not something any neutral would endure by choice - MTT traffic was quite decent, & there was no sign of Mr Overlay. Special mention goes to the £6k Avenger Main which made £7,840, & it's little sister, the £3,000 Mini which chimed in at £3,935.
Avenger Main is a real toughie to win, some might argue more difficult than the Major, and if you look through the records it generally takes a very decent player to come out on top. It's the exception that proves the rule though, & last night it was @shrimpy28 - a Peterborough United fan of all things - who prevailed. It gets worse though, a glance through the archives tells us that it's the 2nd time he's won Avenger Main, & he's also run 2nd twice & 3rd twice. Maybe it's not that hard to win after all. He's also won the Mini version twice, too, plus 3 other Mains - 2 Sharpshooters & a Hitman. Amazing how far luck can take you. 2nd last night was@kornrule12 - his previous 6 MTT's were all Freerolls - with @StayOrGo 3rd. In 5th was the seemingly inexhaustible @HAYSIE still going strong after all these years. I don't have any way of checking it, but I suspect he'd be in the all time Top 10 - maybe even Top 5 - of most Sky Poker Main Event Final Tables. He's elderly, argumentative & Welsh, so it's understandable he gets plenty of chat box salt, but it's water off a duck's back to the curmudgeonly old ****.
We almost had a Friday night FTJ as Main winner @Shrimpy28 was going along nicely until a big accident & he eventually departed in 14th, with @JMH7 taking the win, his previous best scores being 1st places in both Reload & the £1k Rebuy BH. Very pleased to see an old pal of mine - @extraman - run 2nd with the increasingly prominent & consistent @ughx3000cx 3rd. By my admittedly dodgy reckoning, @ughx3000cx has now made 15 Featured MTT FT's in the first 17 days of 2025.
No surprise to see @Sharki0 take the BWBH, (won 9 @ 9 too) but runner-up @CharDog is worth keeping an eye on. Joined last August & 97% of their play is at the cash tables. However, in the last 10 days or so has started playing MTT's - just 13 so far - with conspicuous success. 3rd in Summit, 4th in the Major & now 2nd in BWBH, all £110 events & all in the last 10 days. Around this time last year @Awoken won the Main twice in 6 nights & seems to have, well, awoken again recently with several FT's & a Quickdraw win, & was 4th in this.
Many congrats to @hungup who having been here 5 months & played ~230 MTT's had their first featured & biggest MTT win last night when taking the £800 BH.
I can't tell you how much I admire the discipline of @littlegjwho sticks to his own lane & just keeps getting results, & having already won the £800 BH three times this month added 7 @ 7 last night.
Another player to keep a wary eye on is @Retro__iGwho is popping up all over the shop. Won last night's Rebuy BH for the 2nd time inside a week, & in fact had a hat trick yesterday as also won a £200 BH & a £300 BH. Other notable successes this year also include a Mini Major & a 7 @ 7.
@Mikeycbplayed just 3 MTT's last night but still managed to win Reload for the 4th time, has a sprinkling of other decent wins down the years too including a £2,500 BH & a Mini Sharpshooter.
A very odd result in Mega saw a win for @Sharki0 - not a surprise at all - but the very unlikely duo of @ctbn &@waller02 finishing 2nd & 3rd. Interestingly, those two are absolute lookalikes, they might even be twins.
Turbo went to @zootwho won MidEx earlier this week.
@weeman gets very few mentions in these threads but does OK & is nicely in profit, more so after winning last night's Quickdraw.
That's enough - some might say more than enough - for today.
He's elderly, argumentative & Welsh, so it's understandable he gets plenty of chat box salt, but it's water off a duck's back to the curmudgeonly old ****.
There arent that many things that you can rely on in life, but you are definitely one of them.
