This day last year

"The run of solid traffic - as expected in January - continues. In particular, the £5,000 Gold Rush Main came up just shy of £6,500, (15% up y-o-y) while the £1,000 Quickdraw prize pool doubled it's guarantee with a bit to spare (50% up y-o-y). The £4,000 Summit did OK too, £5,700, almost £1,000 up y-o-y.

I've come up almost dry with info on the 1st & 2nd in the Main, @mookram won it, playing just his third MTT this year & only 300 MTT's in 10 years here, & this was their first featured MTT win. I know even less about @348423 in 2nd place, is not on Sharky, all I can really tell is that at least 90% of his play is in cash games. Well that was interesting...

In the Mini I had an easier time as 1st place went to Sky Poker veteran @18AND5TIME who has been here forever & won all sorts. 4th was @bigfatfish with @wynne1938 doing superbly in 5th & @zzgoose in 6th.

@benc won a tough Summit, always a hard one to win, with @TONY509 @seikus & @Natnug in close attendance.

The new £500 BH @ 19.35 had a ridiculously tough FT considering the £11 buy in, top spot going to @Morris707 but not before he had overcome the likes of @chrisdonkb @BeachBody @loololollo & @FeelGroggy.

@FeelGroggy never went home empty-handed though as he won the £1k BH with the strong-running @zolabud121 in second.

Having won the £500 BH @Morris707 so nearly made it a double, eventually having to accept 2nd place to @camy72 in the Rebuy BH, with @HUGHMANS in 4th.

Having run 3rd in 7 @ 7 three nights earlier, @SQUIDGER got the win last night whilst 1-tabling. That was their first featured MTT win since the Spring of 2020. 2nd was @PRhack93 who had a mixed night, 2nd in this, 4th in £1k BH, and won seats into both the Main & Summit.

Reload went to @Jackiefire who won a MidEx last year.

As is often the case, the night's toughest FT was probably Turbo, with @pooochy taking the win. If the name rings a bell it may be because he won a UKOPS Rebuy last month in the Xmas UKOPS. Following him home in last night's Turbo were @loololollo @roddy28 @NChanning @ozzieowen & @Sharki0. Imagine making the Final & then realising you still have that lot to beat.

@mcmoron10 may have created some sort of record in winning last night's Quickdraw - that's 4 (FOUR) times he's won it this month.

The quaintly aliased @Uarebumboy who won a Main last week took last night's MidEx from a FT which included @BillyPckle @bigfatfish @Woebegone & @Swifteyyeu."

Morning.

A very short overlay list last night with only the Mini misbehaving, & that by just £60, and yet the £4,000 Main topped £5,000, albeit only just.

@podraic had quite a day, both long & successful. Began by winning a midday "Timed", was then 2nd in the £800 BH, won a £3.60 Direct satellite to the Main, then won two more Main Event seats in £1.80 All-In sats, then won the Main itself. MBN to win 3 seats to a target event & then the event itself. Has won pretty much all there is to win here, including a Sunday Major, two Avenger Mains, countless regular Mains & several UKOPS. If we go back to 2025 he headed the Sky Poker Sharkscope "Count" for number of MTT's played in the year, with @Natnug down in 2nd. These days he plays rather less, but still a hefty amount.

In the Mini it was another familiar name that headed the field, @Curt360x27 who was having his first session for almost a week, with this win being his first of 2025. Having said that on 29th December he had his best ever score here when collecting some £5,450 for winning the Xmas UKOPS Main, so I daresay he managed to put food on the table. A less familiar name was @JAPE who only joined Sky Poker a week ago. Looks useful, won a £300 BH on Saturday & 2nd in last night's Mini. @davtherav is enjoying - or should be - a wonderful heater, and last night he was 2nd in the Rebuy BH, 6th in a £300 BH, 3rd in the Mini & 2nd in Mega. Had his best ever result when winning the Sunday night £5k BH just prior to Christmas.

Just 24 hours after finishing 3rd in the Sunday Major, @ego_death returned to win Sheriff. Has had a whole raft of Final Tables this year & is clearly one to keep an eye on.

@Fckwivkatz has been making FT's galore this year - Mini (twice), 9 @ 9, £800 BH & £1k Rebuy BH & last night he managed 1st in the £800 BH. Another one for the Tracker.

Good to see @craigcu12 on site last night, he tends to come & go depending on which was the wind is blowing but he added to his fine record with a Reload victory. Never misses an SPT though.

Mega went to @AKP who we don't see often in these threads though he does have bits & pieces of decent form including 6th in the last Sharpshooter Main before Christmas.

9 @ 9 was won by @ANY_2 who you may recall won a Mega around a fortnight ago. Not his first 9 @ 9, won one in November, & does well in the £1k Rebuy BH too.

And finally.... in the MidEx, @I_Will did.

Lots of European & Domestic football on TV this evening, the best of which looks to be Liverpool v Lille. On the face of it, target practice for Liverpool, but Lille are surprisingly resilient & are unbeaten in around 20 games. Might just be a very competitive game indeed. Lille are 9/1.
