‘You could run faster than that’ Loreto Valente, the manager of Coral Windows and Conservatories on Meadowhall Road, where the chase took place, questioned why the officers “didn’t get out and actually run”.
Mr Valente, 38, told The Telegraph: “The scooter … came down Meadowhall Road, which is directly outside our showroom, and carried on going past us. I don’t know how far down Meadowhall Road they went or whether they turned off.
“I’m assuming the police apprehended them in the end. But I don’t know why they didn’t get out and actually run after them, or something. I don’t know why they were trying to drive. You could run faster than that.”
Well that's a prime example for the use of a stinger, TPAC or just an armed response unit. In fact armed response would probably be better, it would be good practice on a moving target and a successful 'operation' would rid us of a shoplifter and also probably save hundreds of thousands in benefits payments or prison costs.
(Edited to add a smiley face in case certain members of the forum think I am being serious).

You forgot to sign it as well Nigel (Farage).
Not a great fan of Mr Farage tbh although I would rather go for a pint with him than Starmer. If we went to the pub I think Farage would buy me a pint whereas I think Starmer would insist that I bought everyone else in the pub a drink, and those sitting outside, and those sitting in the pub up the street, and their families at home, in fact just about anyone who wanted a free pint. Then he'd complain that I didn't want to go to the pub anymore.

You could just invite them all to your sprawling estate and have the staff serve them instead.
'You could just invite them all to your sprawling estate and have the staff serve them instead'.
Sadly most of the staff have been laid off due to Labour increasing employer's national insurance contributions, it's OK though as they are better off on benefits than working. They wouldn't be needed in the future anyway as most of the estate will need to be sold to pay inheritance tax. It's a sad day when you're reduced to just a butler, a gardner and the cleaning staff. God forbid I have to learn to dress myself in the morning.
