"Let's start with the last of the current series of Stack Builder Freerolls. As you know, players start with different stack sizes, with some having as many as 8,000 or even 10,000. Here's the starting stacks for the Top 6, in finishing order.
1st 2,000
2nd 4,000
3rd 6,000
4th 2,000
5th 3,000
6th 4,000
So you don't need a big starting stack to do well.
The winner was @SMARTGOAT who has been here 10 years & played 18,000 games & has always been profitable at MTT's as well as DYM's & Cash. Even so, he collected £2,700 last night which was more than double his previous best which was for winning an Avenger Main. 2nd was @OnlySmells who is a high volume cash player & does not usually play MTT's except for Freerolls. 3rd was @LittleGJ, who enjoyed his 4th best cash all time. Very similar to @aynaricolwho collected £700 for 4th, her 4th biggest cash of all time I believe. What a great Promo that was.
In the Major, despite a star-studded FT the win went to @richkingwho has been here 7 years but only played 62 games. Chasing him home were the likes of @Super_Oli@cabbaz@Jscorgie & @Froozle. Incidentally, if these things matter to you, last night's Major is not showing on Sharkscope at time of writing.
The Mini Major went to the gnarled & grumpy veteran @Solack, who has won just about every MTT there is to win on Sky Poker in his 15 years here.
There was a proper ding-dong in the £5k BH, with @PRhack93 eventually getting home ahead of the plucky @Shrimpy28 with @StayOrGoin 3rd. Shrimpy had won MidEx the previous day (well, technically the same day) & has picked up around £1,000 in 24 hours, so a few more results like that & we might yet see him at SPT Brighton. Hope so, he's a fun guy & I like him a lot.*
* Well a bit.
@karlluke took the 9 @ 9 & I'm quite sure we'll see her at SPT Brighton.
@Froozle had a decent session, winning MidEx, 3rd in Sheriff & 6th in both Major & Mega."
Very good MTT traffic last night, almost certainly due to deposit limits re-setting on the 1st of the month. Nothing spectacular, but everything performed well.
Starting with the Main, it was @Awoken who headed the field. Had a splendid January with 12 FT's & in March of last year won two Mains inside a week. Last night's runner-up was @ILIKE2FISH who won both Friday's Mega & Wednesday's 7 @ 7. A very fine effort in 5th by @giesahaun who has an ABI of about £3, but won TWO Sharpshooter Main seats in All-In sats. When it's your night, anything can happen. "Coach" @Collabo was 6th, he gets his nick because he's fond of telling other players at his table how to play or what they do wrong. Bet you any money you like he's a back-seat driver. There are some very interesting folks in poker.
As a complete aside, I was reading the Table Chat in a few MTT's last night. Almost without exception, players were bemoaning Sky Poker's move across to i-Poker, "we like the structures & software". That's the same Sky Poker folks that have been moaning & groaning (very often with good reason) about our software that I've been defending for 18 years. Funny old game.
Moving on to Sheriff & guess what? It's that man @Awoken again, beating the usual strong Sheriff field, which at £1,450 was way above it's run-rate last night.
Rebuy BH? Yup, you've guessed it,@Awoken won that too. Main, Sheriff & Rebuy BH on the same evening is pretty sensational I'd say, well done Mr A.
With The @Awoken Show out of the way we can turn our attention to the rest of the schedule now, & it was @flanked who won a big Mini Sharpshooter. Had a perfect evening actually, as his only other MTT last night was a £300 Rebuy & he won that too.@craigyb22 notched up a dozen wins in January, all small stuff & finishing 3rd in last night's Mini was his biggest cash so far in 2025.
The opener, the £800 BH went to @steveysee and later in the evening he made it a double by taking down a £300 Turbo BH. He's notched up some 43,000 games here, of which all but ~1,000 were MTT's, so I guess he knows his way around the place by now.
In late December @Angela124 won both Mini Avenger & Reload in the space of 3 nights, & last night took the 7 @ 7 trophy home.
@CAISA has been here 15+ years but played vey low volume, & almost all of their results have been in Mega which he won last night for the 2nd time in 3 months.
It took until the middle of last month for @MARK277 to break his 2025 duck but he's started February much quicker, nothing up a 9 @ 9 win on the 1st of the month. Has some decent scores on his CV including a Hitman Main, a Mini Avenger & a UKOPS.
Last Monday@Mallaz was 3rd in Reload & he went two spots better last night. Most of his successful results seem to have been in Reload.
Turbo went the way of @Aaaces3 who has a BWBH win on his CV amongst much else.
@MattBates is now really finding his stride, small though it may be, & he had a win double for the 2nd straight session. Won MidEx & followed up by winning the 00.30 £300 BH for the 2nd straight night. That came just 24 hours after a win treble of Mini, £500 BH & £300 BH. Good to see @MattBates rolling back the years.
And finally.... I was at DTD last night for the APAT events & just wanted to thank so many of you who took the trouble to come say Hi. I'm sorry to say that whilst my memory for faces is unimpaired, that's not the case with names, & in many instances I had no idea to whom I was talking. It was great to see you all though, with the obvious exception of @ctbn.
That's it for today. Am back at DTD this afternoon for the RoE &, assuming it does not go well, the NLH Freezeout which starts 2 hours later. Hope to see a few of you there.
