    This day last year

"A reasonable night I suppose. The Main hit a very pleasing £6,330, & yet the Mini missed by a few entries. Meanwhile, Reload made a somewhat startling £2,001.

In the Main, @nervesof invested around £18 across 3 satellites, won a seat in the last, & went on to single table all the way to 1st place which was worth some £1,200. Nice return on £18, & I'm pretty sure it was a PB. Runner-up was @Froozle who occupied the same finishing possie in Quickdraw. In 5th was @GFKIJKLL who went on to win Mega as well as running 2nd in the new £500 BH.

Winner of that £500 BH was @GSmith13 was was making FT's for fun - 1st in the £500 BH, 6th in the Main, 4th in Sheriff, 5th in Turbo & 5th in MidEx. Most of us would be fairly pleased with that haul, but I doubt he was.

Undaunted by finishing 2nd in Wednesday's Mini, @PAPABURG tried again last night & came away with the win. 1st & 2nd on consecutive nights in the Mini is not at all easy with around 250 runners each night. Has some solid scores on his CV, including 1st in a UKOPS Mini & 4th in a UKOPS High Roller.

@loololollo was not having a great session but it all turned mid-evening, winning both Sheriff & Turbo, and 5th in Quickdraw, so it ended up as yet another profitable evening for him. With February just 8 days old, he's already won a Main, a Sheriff & two Turbos plus a few lesser bits & bobs.

The Rebuy BH went the way of one-tabler @andyman999 which means in the last week he's finished 1st, 2nd & 6th in it, as well as winning Reload. His alias ought to be HandyAndy.

@Chandawg4 has been absent from the MTT streets for over a month until showing up late last night & winning MidEx.

A thread debut for @Tvmoney who secured their first ever win by taking 9 @ 9. Not been here long as far as I can tell, so maybe one for the tracker.

The new £400 guaranteed PLO8 ran again but missed g'tee by 2 entries. Quite interesting to note that the £11 entry £400 guarantee PLO8 attracted 38 entries, whilst an hour earlier, the £5.50 entry £200 guaranteed PLO8 came in at 68 entries, which is not far shy of double. Make of that what you will. I decided to watch a good bit of it, whilst channel-flicking the TV between darts & golf. Yes, I know, WAL etc. @ImAmug took the win. Seems to be a PLO8 regular, & has made the FT of the nightly version several times. 2nd & 3rd were @onejohnb & @bbMike, both of whom have good track records in the game. @onejohnb has won the nightly PLO8 at least 18 times & must be one of the best at that format on the site. @bbMike is handy too, having finished 1st, 2nd & 3rd in UKOPS PLO8 events. @pompeynic who had a horrible beat in an earlier renewal, ran a little better last night to finish 6th. That won't be enough to cover his costs for SPT Brighton but hopefully we'll see him there. Oh, I nearly forgot, what happened to the winner of this the preceding two weeks, @NChanning? He looked to be in a world of trouble early doors but then found his mojo & was Top 6 for a while before exiting in 17th place in what would have been a chip-leading pot had he won it. Look out for him in Saturday's PLO, in which he ran 2nd last week. Whether we'll see him Sunday remains to be seen, as it's Super-Bowl Sunday, which is a huge affair in Chez Channing & of course at Betting Emporium.

That'll have to do for today. I'm still struggling with access so work continues to be a bit awkward, but we are plugging on & hope to get back to normal soon."

    Morning.

With the Newcastle v Arsenal Cup Semi Final live on TV it was long odds-on that we'd see plenty of overlay & so it proved with some £740 spread across 6 misses, worst of which, & by some way, was Sheriff at £300 under par.

From a short schedule of just Sunday Major Freeroll, Main & Mini @TONY509 took the Main for a vey satisfying session. Been with us since Year One (2007) & has a very decent record which includes plenty of wins in Main Events. Majors, BWBH etc. Has played almost zero cash in 17 years and is super profitable at MTT's. Runner-up @DUTCHESS62 played an even shorter schedule, just the Main, so 2nd place for £390 will also have been most pleasing. Burly Scot @roddy28 - don't worry, you can't insult Roddy - was 5th. Perhaps the best performance was 6th placed @DARK4NIGHT who got their seat the hard way, first in a £1.60 satellite, then a £7.20 satellite, before eventually collecting £138 in 6th. Decent return on £1.60, that.

The Mini might - arguably - have been tougher to win than the Main, & when the dust settled @chkngeorge battled it out Heads Up with @StayorGo with the former getting the nod. 3rd was @ToddB (5th in last Friday's Avenger Main) with The Notorious @gobbleoff 4th.

With just 14 entries it was a very thin Sheriff which presumably was the only reason victory went to @PKRPar though I suppose I should congratulate the dour Scot. I should but I won't.

Way back in July of last year @MATTYJAJA was 2nd in the £800 BH after which they disappeared, not returning until Monday of this week & after shaking off the inevitable ring-rust that night, won the £800 BH last night.

7 @ 7 saw another short session winner with @Barrer not playing anything else, so it was P1 W1 for him. Certainly can't suggest runner-up @ILIKE2FISH had a short session, he played 33 games in total of which 23 were satellites. Probably worked out OK for him as he was 2nd in 7 @ 7, 2nd in Sheriff, 6th in Mega, 2nd in a £100 Turbo & won himself a Main Event seat. In the Main itself he had a deep run into 21st & picked up another £21. Incidentally @ILIKE2FISH sits 2nd in the Sharky Sky Poker 2025 "Count", with the surprising leader being @Frankson8. The latter is a relative newbie & is going along quite nicely, though he'd do a lot better if he significantly reduced his volume imo. Step aside Coach Collabo, Coach Kendall is in town.

It's been over a week since we've seen @platinum4 but they returned in style & from just 2 MTT's played won the Rebuy BH & was 6th in MidEx.

Playing just his 4th game since October, @headrige06 won Mega. His only previous results of note have been in MidEx which he's won twice & been 4th once.

@peter27 has only played 7 times this year & had been on something of a nasty downswing but he bounced back last night with 1st place in 9 @ 9. Those with good memories will know that he's probably the best & most knowledgeable F1 tipster there is, though I note he's been much quieter on Twitter recently. Really knows his F1 onions, & in fact I believe he was in the business at some stage though he was generally quite coy about which Team. If you have any questions about F1 though, he's your man. Sadly, after being a lifelong F1 fan I've lost interest in F1 in recent years, young Max has dominated & he does nothing that interests, amuses or arouses me. Peter actually came along to an SPT once or twice, & I had the pleasure of sharing a table with him in one occasion. An odd hand went off between us in which we both had A-K, which I'm sure he'll recall. I can't actually recall where it was, but it may have been Nottingham. These days I play at DTD 2 or 3 times a week but I don't recall bumping into him there, but I seem to think he plays most of his Live poker at Grosvenor Leicester, & in fact he started 2025 with a fine 2nd place there. Has over £25,000 of winnings on his Hendon Mob, the best of which was almost £8,000 in a 2019 DTD £150, so he's pretty handy.

@WYLIEBOB turns up most nights & 1 tables Reload, & earned himself 1st place last night. Has made the FT many times & in fact won it twice inside 3 weeks in March of last year.

@GlenH has wafer-thin volume in his 13 years here & I believe victory in last night's MidEx was his maiden visit to the winner's enclosure.

Finally, when perusing the results of the Rewards Freeroll I noticed that in 12th place was @TheWaddy. Crikey, there's a memory. Wonder what he'll make of I-Poker, if he stays with us?

I have quitely been working super hard on my game, and I am in a place where my confidence is very high. I now go into every tournament believing I can win, rather than a few years ago where I was just hoping to achieve a min cash.

Spent a couple of years living in Canada which is why I went "off the radar" a little, but came back to the UK towards the end of last year, and planning to hit live poker hard this year, including the SPT's and a trip to Vegas in June.

Will be doing the occasional trip to DTD, so I shall keep an eye out for you. Hope you're well.

Great to hear from you mate, & yes, hopefully we'll bump into each other either at DTD, or in Vegas later this year.
