I just don't get why this is a story.

A Coventry MP has to work in both her constituency and in the House of Commons in London. Consequently, she needs a 2nd home in London.

She rents out a home in London. This would cost £X per year if she has no pets. But, in common with a lot of Landlords, holiday lets etc, there is an additional charge for having a pet there. In this case, it is £900 per year.

She asked whether the higher rent could be charged on expenses. And was told yes. Because the answer, according to the independent body that oversees these things, said yes. And the correct answer is yes.

We have MPs moonlighting, earning £millions from 2nd jobs. We have MPs claiming for the cleaning of their moat.

And this one is news?
