From next week, and for six weeks, Sky_Ling will be taking over as Series Producer of The Club - with her trusty sidekick............. me!!
We have some fantastic shows lined up for you over the coming weeks, but I won't spoil the surprise by telling you everything now. But, what I can tell you is that WE NEED YOU.........we need your imput, because this show is all about you, and what you want to see. So keep up the good work on the forum, and keep those posts coming in.
We are planning to have some regular weekly segments, such as Play My Hand and Hot Topics - but we will also be adding a bit of variety to each of the shows, with a little touch of comedy to boot.
You have Sky_Chris and hand-picker Harry's episode on Monday at 8pm to look forward to and then we'll be with you from Monday May 10th - so be sure to tune in!
So....what do we want from you now??? Well, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to send us your best poker face.......that's right, get your camera out, get your game face on, and get your pics coming in. Send your entries (good quality pics if possible please) to skyopen@bskyb.com.
Also....what are you doing this weekend? No, we're not inviting you out, but we do want to know if you are playing any live games over the coming weekend? If so, add a thread here letting us know when, where and what you are playing and how you got on - and if you have any photos then why not send them in too.
So, now it's down to you - get your emails, posts, questions, suggestions and your photo's coming in...........we'll be waiting.
Not sure if this is correct or not but I thought I'd have a go at some maths! The trouble with the Royal Flush on board calculation is there are so many possible starting conditions, here's a few...
Type
Complicated Stuff
Odds to 1
Royal Type
1/((5/52) * (4/51) * (3/50) * (2/49) * (1/48))
2598960
Number of 5 card hands possible dealing from 52 card deck
1
1/((20/52) * (4/51) * (3/50) * (2/49) * (1/48))
649740
Odds of Royal all cards possible dealing from 52 card deck
2
1/((20/51) * (4/50) * (3/49) * (2/47) * (1/45))
550560.9375
Odds of Royal all cards possible dealing from 52 card deck including burned cards (excluding possibility burned card was a Royal card)
3
1/((20/40)*(4/39)*(3/38)*(2/37)*(1/36))
164502
Odds of a Royal at a 6 seater no 10,J,Q,K,A held by a player
4
1/((20/39)*(4/38)*(3/37)*(2/35)*(1/33))
131944.3125
Odds of a Royal at a 6 seater no 10,J,Q,K,A held by a player including burned cards (excluding possibility burned card was a Royal card)

1/((5/40)*(4/39)*(3/38)*(2/37)*(1/36))
658008
Odds of a Royal at a 6 seater no 10,J,Q,K,A of a particular suit held by a player
6
1/((5/39)*(4/38)*(3/37)*(2/35)*(1/33))
527777.25
Odds of a Royal at a 6 seater no 10,J,Q,K,A of a particular suit held by a player including burned cards (excluding possibility burned card was a Royal card)
Explanation of my reasoning of Royal 1:
I'm using the whole 52 card pack, no players and no burning of cards in the deal
First card must be one of 10,J,Q,K,A but of any suit so 20 possible cards so odds of getting it are 20/52
First card determines suit so
Second card must be one of the 4 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 4/51
Third card must be one of the 3 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 3/50
Fourth card must be one of the 2 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 2/49
Fifth card must be the remaining card to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 1/48
Explanation of my reasoning of Royal 6:
I'm using the whole 52 card pack, 6 players with 2 cards each and burning a card before the flop, turn and river
First card must be one of 10,J,Q,K,A but of a particular suit so 5 possible cards, already 12 cards held by players and 1 card burned before the flopso odds of getting it are 5/39
Second card must be one of the 4 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 4/38
Third card must be one of the 3 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card 3/37
Fourth card must be one of the 2 remaining cards to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card, remembering the burned card also 2/35
Fifth card must be the remaining card to make a Royal of the same suit as the first card , remembering the burned card 1/33
