Hi Folks..... As you may of gathered, I was on a downer last night so hence my posts on this thread. A big THANK YOU to Benny, Dazler, Phil, Tikay, Dylan and Alan (elsadog) plus everyone else for they replies and advice given. I will be giving the MTT's a break for a week or two and looking at the general advice given above, I will play some SNG's to compensate and feed my poker fix! I am not a CASH player as I would know that I would not have enough discipline at the tables regarding BR so will be giving that a wide berth. Omaha also fills me with dread so I won't be going down that route. I have, however, enjoyed my LIVE experiences even though I have only been to a handful of events. I feel I should look more in this direction and try and get out to more in the coming weeks/months.* Yet again, thank you for all the posts/advice given above. Cheers, Alan. *FTAO STOKEY......NOSEYBONK (?)......plus whoever else is from the Stoke area. Does anyone go to the stoke casino and if yes, what nights?. I am sure we could get a crew together from Sky Poker and arrange a good night out up there. Anyone????

id say, go play some cash omaha PL,just micro stakes..take urself out of ur MTT comfort zone..nothing worse than being 'good' at something and losing at it...go play something ur 'not good' at,who knows u might win...i found omaha 'improved' my holdem game no end,..(although others may disagree with that.lol)...i never played cash coz i fawt i sukked at it ,but iv recently started 'trying' it again, both NLH and omaha, with some(small)success..playin cash has also given me a slightly different outlook to 'the game'..i still sukk at MTT..tho....gl.

"Omaha also fills me with dread so I won't be going down that route"

Funnily enough, I was having the same experience as you with the MTT's and losing the enjoyment so I actually went the other way - I decided to try to learn more about Omaha.  Nothing big, just a few very low level STT - scary's and DYM.  I found it fun and fascinating and best of all it gave me back my enthusiasm for the game and so I went back to hold em MTT's.

Not sure if that will work for all but it did for me (cashed in a few of the Omaha games too!)

I have actually decided to have a crack at the Omaha tables next month as part of Richard Orford's Bankroll challenge thing along with low level cash games. lets hope I have as much joy and success as you seemed to of had :)

On another unrelated topic, can I just say a big THANK YOU to you for helping me out the other day when I could not see any of the community cards on our table due to a technical fault (which I have now reported) when the rest clock did not disappear after the break. I cannot think of another site where a player would do this so many thanks again for your help.

GL at the tables and I hope to catch you again if and when I return to the holdem MTT's.

tournie poker is can be very, very cruel.

i only really play the main 8pm tournies on Sky and I went 2/3 months without even cashing, seeing my sharkscope dwindle and dwindle.  i would even play the Bounty Hunter tournies and exit without taking a head, it was that bad.

then this month i have ran deep in like 4 big tournies here cashing close to 3k£ on Sky.

Errrrr .......... Yeah, but I didn't realise I wouldn't win another hand for the next month.

Last night I got my first pocket pair since Easter ......... everyone folded 'cos it's been weeks since I raised any hand. My fold button is worn out and my sharkscope looks like a profile of the Mariana Trench. At the last count I have had 10,492 combinations of 94 and 62 off suit. The last time I hit a flop was on the 4th of April and I lost that hand.

Apart from that my game is good :o)
