I think the problem in this hand is not the bluff but the decision you made early on. Preflop you had a marginal to weak hand and instead of folding or trying to get in cheap you put in a very weak 3-bet.You then called a 4-bet when you should also have folded. The pot was then so juicy that you felt compelled to bluff at it. Bluffing in omaha is never really a good idea but this hand is not really about that it is more about the overplaying of really bad hands and getting yourself into trouble because of it. Your opponent had a reasonably good hand that he was overplaying as well. These are common mistakes made by newcomers to the game. There is no hand so good as to be 3 or 4 betting preflop. The hands are defined from the flop onwards so my advice is if you are going to play these marginal hands then get to the flop cheaply and reassess then.

That Post by Talon, especially the last three sentences, contains some of the best Omaha advice you will ever see.

This is NOT Texas, Omaha is a completely different game, & pre-flop shennanigans won't work. See the Flop, then re-assess. And remember, you will catch  bit of most Flops. And so will your oppo. If you must bluff, wait until the Turn or River.

    Hi Dozza,

It's certainly not a "good" starting hand, but if you are in the Blinds, yes, worth a look.

You have, really, 4 "potential" hands there, but not any real "nut draws".

    1) A set of 10's. But that's  2 outer. (One pair is NEVER any good).

2 & 3) The 2 flush draws. But if it's multiway, & the pot gets big, do you really fancy calling down with either of those two flushes?

4 ) The 6-5, a a straight draw - ONLY any good for the TOP end of a str8, so we need a 2-3-4 sorta flop.

It's not the worst starting hand I've ever seen, but it's really not one I'd to go to war with.

This ranks as possibly one of the worst played hands I have ever seen in any form of poker, and I have played high stake Telesina before!

Cheers Tikay, from now on i'm only playing hands which have the possibility of making the nuts down future streets. I'll give Omaha another go soon. :-)
