Extensions.

I was asked by a friend what the term "extensions" meant in Omaha.
I know that it is a term that Tikay loves to use.

I would consider "extensions" to be any hole cards that give us a good "back-up" draw when we already have a strong (or even nut) hand.

Here is a hand from a 10PLO table about an hour ago that illustrates the term pretty well.
We both flop the nuts but my opponent has "extensions", i.e. a flush draw.
On the turn I gain "extensions" with a different flush draw and get a little aggressive with the added confidence of the back-up.

The river is cruel!  :-)))

    Mere,

Another cracking post. You and Talon really are pretty handy to have around on the Omaha boards, so I just wanted to say thanks.

Of course, if some of you have other expressions or terms you want explaining do post on the boards and we'll try help you out.

    Thanks again.

That's a perfect example of "extensions". Not sure about that player "not-tikay" though.......

In an Omaha hand last night, no less than three of us flopped the nut Broadway straight. It had 2 spades, & I held the A-K spades - so I could pump all the money in, knowing my Opponents could not fold, & I had what amounted to a Freeroll for the Flush. It's not quite a Freeroll, as if the Board pairs I may lose the lot, but it's as good as it gets.
