Omaha Tourney Frenzy this evening on PTP

edited May 2010 in Poker Chat

Afternoon all.

Tonight, as PTP-er, I will be playing 4 Omaha Tourneys on the bounce, all £5 Jobbies, exactly as we did last week, when we had a pretty fun evening, I thought.

I'm entered for the.....

7.15

8.15

9.15

10.15

I'll also play the 8pm Main Event, so a busy night in prospect, & after that - between them, maybe, if I take a few early baths - it'll be "affordable" Omaha Cash, right up to Midnight.

We got an average of over 20 in these £5 Omaha Tourneys last week, & I hope we can get a few decent fields together again tonight.

Just for the craic, we'll have a Fun Comp, too. The Prize? I'll abuse the Winner on my next TV Show on Channel 865. You can be abused as much as Dylan!

To be eligible, you must play TWO OR MORE of the 4 Tourneys I nominated above.

From those, work out your AVERAGE finishing position, & bob's yer uncle.

    So, if I finish 5th, 10th, 15th & 20th, my average finishing position will be 12.5. Simples.

I will try & keep a note of who finishes where on this thread, as the evening progresses.

These are a great laugh and I for one will be there.  Hopefully these will fill up nicely and after some heavy sessions I do fancy kicking back for a bit and enjoying the game tonight.

However I will as ever be attracted to the PLO cash tables afterwards and it would be nice to complete my bankroll challenge tonight.  Mr Kendall, you can make this happen.  ;)

p.s.  Only kidding, it's actually easier to convince a club doorman that your white trainers are the new line of Gucci Office footwear than it is to get Tikay's granite like grip off of his chips.

Good luck to one and all who enter these Tournies, sure to be fabulous fun.

    Sigh...

I must just say that it is great for you to promote these tournaments - You have done this when you are PTP and also on your evenings off, the same is true every Wednesday for the Sleepstack and DS - I know you love playing them anyway but without your enthusiasm I very much doubt they would get as many runners as they do.

I will deposit a little money to play in these tonight and play for fun in them - I hope to see a whole load of people entering and supporting these sorts of tournaments!! Good luck to all and once again Well Done gramps for the promotion!!

Oh please, PLEASE let Dylan be on my Table tonight.

He struggles with 2 cards, never mind 4. And imagine if Mere-Euston-Stn-Novice is on the same table, calling left right & centre, it will be carnage.

TommyD is the danger. He'd be top-drawer if he did not bluff 8 hands in 10.

As seen as I 'fluked' a 2nd in on these last week, I shall endeavour to play at least one Omaha and the main one tonight.

If I am on the same table as Dylan, I too would like Vince there, so he could translate for me :)

Nice one Alan, with 45 mins to go to tonight's first Featured Omaha jobbie, we have FIVE Registered, which, by normal nights, is quite good, as they often barely get 6 or 7.

I'm hopeful we can get 20+ again, as we did last week.

We all bellyached to get Omaha, so we need to get some runners in these things.

It was great Sharon, what a grand session that was!

You must be psychic, as I was just writing about that very game on my "other place" moments ago. We will do that game again, eh? Maybe later tonight, though I prefer to play it on my private account tbh, on my nights off, I'm, not sure I wholly relax when I play Omaha with Company money.

Q-9-9-2 in the first hand (BB) & it came Q-Q-x. Solly tried to nick it, I resisted, I rivered the Flush & bet 20 into 160, lol, he called - he rivered the house with Q-5, lol! Great game, Omaha, it really is.

No justice in poker. How can HE be leading? The poor Gent who busted first does appear to have a leak. Or need one.

This is the hand that basicly cost me my tourny, i appretiate your busy on ptp nights tikay but would love your opinion on how bad i played this hand.

I Know I should have checked on the river, and when he re-raised i knew I was behind I just couldnt fold but how about my play before it?

Based on my astonishing 5th place in the team event (well, it was astonishing to me!!) last week I'll see if I can replicate it in the 8.15pm

K Ive signed up for the 8-15 omaha, for my break away from the cash grind.

As the site is closing at 3am tonight, gonna lose out on cash time so im gonna have to play the proper players before midnight :(

Nothing to lose in omaha, no nothing about tourny strategy, lets have some fun :)

    Ouch, Gareth, tough one that!

I'm Raising pre with your hand - it's a beaut, but it's awkward, as everyone calls early doors. But I'm never folding Alexis's hand to any PL PF Raise, either, that's a beaut, too, arguably barely inferior to yours, with more ways of improving. I actually almost prefer his hand to your pre, as it has more ways to improve.

On the end? Jeez, tough to fold, you had 2nd nuts. If I were playing deep enough, I might be able to get off, but it'd probably be a bad fold over time.

A cooler, I'd say. I'd be interested in the thoughts of the other lads on this one. Apart from the flat pre, (& he DOES call a Raise anyway) it played itself really, nobody is ever folding, it's just a cooler I think.

    Unlucky man.
