BIG thanks to Mere for running this thread. It's unbelievably difficult to play two Tourneys AND run an Update thread, so big ups to the man, thank you.
And Dylan cashed? Tell me it ain't so, please.
My evening went well. Not.
I arrived 40 minutes late, due to some "technical difficulties" during the Pre-Records.
I soon got a few chips in the tikay, aided by Aces 15 times. But I slipped behind the count, then found the perfect spot to shove - not - with J-3 into Aces.
While this was progressing, a Gentleman in the Chat-Box was relentlessly challenging me to play him Heads Up, "I'm watching how you play, & I'm gonna take you down". Eventually I agreed to play him, & enquired "what stakes do you wish to play, mate?". "Well I only have 23p at the moment" he replied. I can't lose too much, then.
In the Double Stack, a weird coup went off which cost me dear. I hit 2 pair, Q's & 10's, but the board went all straighty, & 4-flushed, too, so I had a nightmare decision on the end to call a tidy bet with no flush or straight. He had flopped bottom set, 8-8-8 (the rest of the Board were all overs) but he had indeed 4-flushed. The hand was very tricky to play, but it was a bad play by me.
So it was off to the Cash Tables, & I opened two Omaha Tables, one at 10p-20p, the other at 25p-50p. The 10-20 went well, & I ended two Buy-Ins up.
The least said about the 25-50, the better, but it cost me 2 full pull-ups - £100 - & I think that was down to bad decisions on my part, combined with a touch of run-bad.
Firstly, I turned the nut house on a 6 high board in a multi-way affair & with 3 players behind me, I trapped. That's invariably a bad thing in Omaha, & Vince rivered a better house to stack me. My bad. Then I flopped a set of Kings on an all-diamond flop, bet it strong, but could not shake off one player who had flopped it, & I failed to improve. The guy ran as hot as a hot thing all night, & I was 100% sure I could stack him if I ever found a hand, as he repeatedly called very light, but I never found the spot once, it was just one of those nights when it was all uphill & into the wind.
In fact, I lost to house over house - quite normal in Omaha - 4 times last night. Tonight, I will probz win all 4, such is Omaha.
Anyway, big thanks to Mere for the Updates - it realy is appreciated, as I just could not manage it last night.
I can just about live with dropping about £100 on the night, it happens, but Dylan cashing, that's just too hard to bear.
How can anyone who plays as tight as Bendog possibly make a final table, nevermind win a big MTT! You must have had aces sixty four times, and flopped seventy nine sets ! Lol
