Ok, the thread has nearly run it's course, & I will send it up to Sky-Bernie to see if we can get the Tourney back in the schedule. As long as a Guarantee is not demanded - for which I see no reason, nor clamour for - there is no reason why he will not reinstate it, suitably modified.

Before I do, however, I'd make one more suggestion for you to ruminate upon.

The numbers for the nightly 6 seater £22 Deepie were never much more than 20 - not enough really.

Currently, we have a weekly "tikay sleepstack" which has 5,000 chips, a "medium-paced" structure (not quite as slow as the £22), but differs essentially in ONE major respect - it is a TEN-seater. It averages between 40 & 50 runners, 52 last week I believe.

What if we made the "old" £22 Deepie more like the current "tikay", made it a 10 seater, & set the buy in halfway between the two - say £16.50?

I woul have thought that if we promoted it, maybe lent a Presenter's name to the Tourney, or one of the TP-ers - Dan, Ben, etc - or even one of the young guns, Chirpy, Browndogg, etc  - it might just be viable.

I'd be very disappointed if we could not get at least 30 runners every week for that. And it woul tick the boxes for those who like 6 seaters, too, as with 30 runners & 10 seats, it would run short-handed for much of it's duration.

    Thoughts, anyone?

I'll gauge reaction/interest, then send the Thread to Sky Bernie on Thursday or Friday.

How would this tick the boxes for those who like 6 seaters if I may ask? 30 players would be 3 tables of 10 would it not?
I am not sure what the 'preferred' seat numbers would be but I do agree with the £16.50 figure as this would hopefully would attract more players.
There was only 13 of us in last night's £11 deepy but I think that had more do to with the footy and darts being on then players not wanting to play. (plus some players being persuaded to play that PLO hi/lo)

I'll be happy to play any decent structured game.

If it was Monday which is the prefered choice by most( then thats ur PTP night Tikay so u playing may help the traffic (extra value obviously) ;)

Whatever the decision is fine by me - would just like a return to good paced, 6 seater and 10 seater tournies that have a good amount of runners.

Because a 10 seater with 30 runners runs for the majority of it's duration short-handed!

    For example.

When down to  25 runners, it is 8-8-9.

When down to 22, it is 7-7-8.

When down to 14, it is 7-7.

When down to 12 it is 6-6.

    Etc.

But if peeps prefer 6-handed, fine by me, I have no preference either way. We did see some rather amusing rhetoric recently about 6 v 10 seater Tourneys, but the truth is, they are both poker, & it's more about the spirit of the Tourney & the players than anything else.

I like the thinking, but IMO the only reason the Wednesday tournament gets 40+ runners is because its named after you and you play in it. I dont think the 10 seater factor actually makes any difference.

If it is put back on for a Monday it should just be called the "Tikay £22 Sleepstack" and I know you will play it when ever you can. I think we could get the numbers to about 30 regually, at the end of the day its only another £11 more than the other, so is that really too much to pay once a week?

I dont think it should be named after any of the players as this could have an adverse affect, not everyone gets on with everyone else, and some people could not play it just because of the name.

In terms of payouts, I think it should be normal like the rest, if we are getting 30+ then that pays 5 players anyway so wouldn't make a huge difference anyway.

Im not gonna be a 100%er with the tourny at all, so maybe my opinion doesnt really matter much. But, if the old structure became a 10 seater tourny rather than 6, i'd never play it, whereas if it remained 6 seater, same structure, and decent prize pool, I wud 'sometimes' play it :)

    6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 !!!!!!! :):):):):)

I prefer 6 seater but would play either.  I would play the £11 7.30 that is there at the moment (what used to be the £22 but it got reduced) a lot more often if it got enough players - but it doesn't.  Not too concerned about whether £16.50 or £22, but think it should be the SoLack Losack Slowstack
