Played the Alea Leeds £20 Freezeout last night, regular game for me but had more runners (53) due to an event in Leeds this weekend, losts of drunken fish to swell the prize pool!
Usual first few levels with drunken shoves and I didn't pick up much so made the break on average 17k stack, after the break I took over dealing the table which always keeps me out of trouble, ended up limping onto the final table of 9 (and the cash) as 7th best with 39k (400/800/100)
Couple of the "tourists" battled each other early on so I found myself 5th of 5 with only 5 big blinds, got it in with 88 and doubled, next hand 77 and more chips come my way, eventually I take out 5th and 4th and end up 3 handed as chip leader, 3 shoves with 2nd place, my K5 hitting trip K against 44, my K8 losing to 55 then my K6 hitting a set of 6s against his 55 leaving us to chop it me £225, 2nd £215 and 3rd £160, productive nights work now off to the races!!
EDIT * Only 28 runners this week but still cashed for £160, good nights work!*
