Why have they replaced all the deep stacks with stupid speed bounty hunters then?--- the evening deep stacks were popular tournaments, with people playing poker in them, they were axed because they took too long, and sky want players to play donkey tournaments instead--innit!!! Posted by oynutter
Hi Oynutter/All,
We have a site outage tomorrow morning at ~ 1.55am, hence tonight's tournament schedule has had to be amended.
Any tournaments which from historical analysis would go past this outage window have either been cancelled or had the blinds 'sped up'
Which explains all the speed tournaments in tonight's schedule and the lack of deep stacks.
Normal business will resume from tomorrow and I've made a sticky thread advising of this and the site outage.
P.S. Great discussion and some excellent feedback so thanks everyone who has contributed so far
In Response to Re: Tourney Schedules - All Change! Please Post Feedback on this thread. : If that can be achieved or the £2.20 at normal time of 7.15 and the £22 Deepie at 7.45 with the £100G Deepie at 8.15, then, hopefully, we Deepies are well served and it would be great. thanks and gl in your Omaha challenge tonight. Thanks Spicey,
Well I don't know if that can, but I'm pretty hopeful, & the Thread has served it's purpose by identifying the concerns of yourself & others.
All that is needed is for players to say "this is what we would prefer to see", and that's a great starting point for the "feedback" I respectfully requested & invited.
Am looking forward to tonight's Omaha Hi-Lo's, yes. I shall deffo not be reading the Forum whilst playing them, though! I'm nearly done for the day, so time to chill now.
I was playing some Omaha Hi-Lo Cash last night, my own money, on my own account, & someone came into the chat-box & started giving me all the sarcastic & ironic smartypants stuff, & it really distrurbed my focus, so I will bar myself from the Forum, & have to turn off the chat tonight!
id like a decent heads up torn plz sky, something like 1500 chips 5-10 min blinds and a deepstack speed event!! say 5 min blinds but only 1 to stop all the moans and groans!!!
Nice one Tikay, I can now see two good games for less than a fiver!!---brilliant!!-- and all in the space of five hours, how good is that eh? Posted by oynutter
oynutter, I think you'll find that Tony Kendall has your post's on "edit oynutter" .. !!
In Response to Re: Tourney Schedules - All Change! Please Post Feedback on this thread. : Orford teach you Maths, did he, Phil? 95%? But the straight answer, I imagine, is "no" - because many people enjoy the variety, some like the ones you don't like, & vice-versa. BH's & Velocities are not to my taste, as it happens, but a little tolerance & understanding of the wishes of others is necessary, & not unreasonable, imo. PS - Very well done on the £22 last night - some turnout that! And to think it was not even on the Schedule until mid-afternoon! Posted by Tikay10
Exaggeration on my behalf - yes! I also agree about tolerance on all types of mtts. I love that sky are trying new things and wanting feedback. I would personally like some £20+ mtts a bit more regularly (no guarantee needed) but don't know if Sky have the market for it?
Any chance on the sng route into mtts?
66 runners was fab!!! Top field of players as well - lets hope once the satellites start for it (if they do) that we can get even more

Now that WOULD be a neat trick!
I'm used to moaners & groaners, it's just what some people do. It's not hard to moan & groan, be sarcastic & ironic, take cheap shots. Constructive feedback takes a little more effort & guile, but is rewarded with the answers it deserves.
It's just "what do you want, guys?" - it's that simple, really.
I would love to see more of the 1 quid to enter tournies for the small guy-- there are a few of them in the morning-- 30 grtd ect, but why can these not run all day?-- the small guy gets a bad deal here, what with 15% rake on the 1 quid dym games ect-- these small games always get filled-- please sir, can we have some more?
I said that there where only 2 mtt from the choice in my small bankroll i would think about playing, not moaning.I like to play mtt since there are no mtt at sit & go's the tournament section is all there is now.If you click micro at bottom of tournaments(which is my level)you get freerolls and roulette thats it. I am old school like to build a stack not shove it whats wrong with that!
I would like to see more of a good selection of MTT's throughout the late night/early morning. These would not have to have any GTD's with them but it would give a choice for the late night players who may wish to play them. CASH PLAYERS can play through the night as there are ALWAYS players and tables active 24 hours on here. This gives them a unfair advantage. IMO, on gaining points for the league, but as that is another taboo subject I shall refrain from opening that can of worms up. If some late night decent structured MTT's are introduced say on a Friday or Saturday night (late), I hope that there will be enough players interested in playing in them. This site is advertised as a 24 hour site but unlike other sites, the choice is very limited for the MTT players on here after 11pm.
I would also like to see more sats introduced after 7pm (for those who work in the day) for the following night's OPEN whatever it be. This hopefully would encourage players with a smaller BR to try and qualify for the next nights OPEN at a time which will suit more people and therefore increase runners.
I echo Phil's request for sats also for the £22 deepstack but again, ideally in the evening and not the day.

good idea - i like that. I usually can only try to qualify (for Open) or any main event at weekend and do like to try to give it a go when i can
Hey there Tikay - hope things are good over at Sky Poker HQ. My first forum post so please excuse the lack of tech knowledge/jargon etc. On the question of tournament schedules - I am a new recruit, both to Sky and online poker in general but what I have noticed so far is that many of the freerolls seem to start at 7pm (could be wrong here so apologies if so). Without wishing for you to get the violins out, after commuting home from work, helping to put the kids to bed etc etc it is not really feasible for me to enter anything starting pre 8pm. I would imagine that many others are in a similar position? Would it be possible to have more at a later start slot? Anyway all the best and hopefully I'll cross swords with you at some point on the tables. Cheers S Posted by Spider555

Thanks for sorting that out sky Adam-- nice to see all the deep stacks are back in the schedule-- I should have gone to specsavers innit?
Just caught up with this thread, and I appreciate what you say about keeping the schedule tidy.
Now someone already mentioned about having seperate lobby's for the different types of games and as you mentioned , this is already implemented to seperate hold em, omaha etc.
However this could be got round by having a slightly different filtering system, that ideally would also be customisable for each player.
Now if you go to the hold em section for MTT's from a game perspective, you can see
All, Regular, Televised, Rebuy, Bounty Hunter, Speed etc
Now thats a fine idea, ideal for those who are looking for one of those specific tournies.
However I would have thought that given that All, lists all tournies, and certain others have their own filters, that regular, would not include those tournies that can be listed by filter elsewhere.
So a more tidy schedule could be achieved by not listing tournies within the regular section that can be listed elsewhere. If someone is looking for tournies from a timed perspective then they at least have the option to view all, and list it by status.
Alternatively for the those who want to play deepstacks, then a filter could be added just to show deepstacks, although I don't like the idea as much, as you could end up with filters for every type of tourney being listed and the site could look messy. However this could also be gotten around by having a drop down filter, in a similar vein to how the quick play selection works, thus keeping the page a lot tidier.
Taken this a stage further, if a filter was then included for buy in fees, ie under £5, £5-£20, £20-£50 etc, that again would make it easier for Sky's poker clientelle to find those tournaments that they are interested in and also within the size of entry fee that they wish to pay, making it easier for the customer to find the tourny as easy and quickly as possible.
Now from the main schedule listing of "ALL" for those non special just every day regular events, would all of them needed to be listed, Probably not, you could list those events for the next xx many hours, thus keeping that section tidy too.
That way it wouldnt matter how many types of tournies were run throughout the day. If there are 50 BH ones the all page may only show those due to start in teh next 2 hours, and same with all the other types of tournies.
However a full listing (which I presume for regular tournies is within 24 hours) would be listed within each filtered tourny section
One - the above gets around the possibility of the schedule list looking messy, if that is one of the reasons for tournies being removed
Two - it empowers the players on here to have a varied choice, not just from type of tourny but as to cost etc.
If there is no added cost to Sky in running numerous tournies where prize money just comes from the buy in, then there would be no reason that each type of tourny couldnt be run every 15 minutes or every 30 minutes with a varying degree of buy in for each.
As an example Deepstack starts on teh hour for £1.10, 15 mins past the hour £5, 30 mins past £20, and at 15 mins to the hour £50
You could have the same for the other tourneys, except this time the £1.10 for the BH may start at 15 mins past and so on, £1.10 speedy at 30 mins past etc, this way there would be a tourny available for every type of buy in or format within a set period of time, whether this be 15 mins 30 mins or even every hour.
Again providing there is no additional cost to Sky then if some of these tournies dont take place due to insufficent entries then so what, at least Sky would be seen as providing as much choice as possible to its customers.
Now I'm sure there are obstacles to overcome, the main one that I imagine, would be is the present software even able to offer something like that, but its something that could be looked at.
All I know is that for someone like myself who cant guarantee at what time or even day I am able to spend some time on here playing poker, a system where by I can find a tournament that I wish to play and suits my bankroll as quickly as possbible would be a god send. If I then find a list of 4 possible tournies available within the next 2 hours that I wish to play , and am unable to do so due to limited number of entries, then whilst that would be infuriating at least I would go away thinking well you provided what I was lookin for.
Now I also appreciate that this is not something you can implement Tikay, your a poker player, not a software guru, altho I'm sure one night on the club or something we will here how you use to work for Microsoft and designed Windows or something , but I would be grateful for your thoughts on the idea
Sorry for the length of the post, I do tend to ramble a bit when I get going
