Live tourney. Good value.

On the rare occasions I get the chance to go out and play live, I usually go to `Circus` Casino in Stoke On Trent.  Nice casino, and they have affordable buyins.

The first Sunday of every month they have a £100 freezeout, with £1500 added.  Ive not p[layed this yet, mainly because I havent had the chance, but it sounds like good value.

I got a txt through from them, advertising a `anniversary cup` tournament in 1st August, with £4k added, £150 buyin.  From what I remember, the max seating capacity is about 130.

This sounds extremely generous to me, do a lot of casinos add this much.  I obv know, it is to entice the punters in so they can lose their money at their table games, but still.  I might try and get to this. 

Will anyone else on here be playing this tourney

    Hi OMahonyO....

    I have been watching out for a thread just like this!!
    I dont play much live poker at the moment but having been to Luton and DTD, I do enjoy going to experience the game at casinos.
    I am a 'stokie' so would be interested in getting up to the circus some time soon. However, that £100 freeze out is slightly out of my BR permit but I am hopefully coming to the end of my downswing and things will change for the better very soon!
    My point is that I hope that a few of us could try and organise a 'get together' from here at the Circus. There must be a few names like STOKEFC/NOSEYBONK (i think) who are local to the Stoke area who might be interested in a good night out!!!
    IF (and that is a big IF) we could get a few names down, we could always ask if Tikay would be free to come and join us so we could make it a great night out!!

    I will leave it there for now mate but what do you thing?..

    on the subject of live events mister omahony sir, was looking for some live events last weekend and a festival of poker  in southampton popped up. no good to me coz it finished sometime earlier in the year!!. the person who won it  ( about5k i think) was a "omahony" was this you or a family reletive. phil

    ps. played at stoke a couple of times, and you are right you would only get about 130 in there. im up for going i you want to get a few there

    I keep meaning to get out to the g-casino in Southampton at Leisure World but never actually do it.
