prensenters/analysts playing at spt

I do not think they should be allowed to play unless they are 100% commited to the tournament as they give an unfair advantage to the players at their table!!

not saying that they are not good players but they are forced to donk their chips away early to go and play ptp sit and gos and mingle....  therefore giving easy chips away to someone lucky enough to be sat at their table..

    Hi Mr Flop.

That is incorrect - they are NOT required to "donk off", (though the way some play, it may look that way) but if they do bust, they DO immediately play the PTP "fun" SNG's. But this is "Plan B" only.

I can think of at least 2 SPT's where a Presenter or Analyst has made the Final - Norman Pace in Edinburgh, & Trevor Harris in Luton.

It is, of course, always an advantage to share a Table with Rich Orford.

Untrue imo, they all try to win, its in their nature and i speak from personal experience of playing them in these events.

for the record, trevor harris final tabled in Luton, and i believe Norman Pace final tabled in Edinburgh they both beat over 140 players!! There have also been other creditable finishes.

Rich Orford always gives 100% and actually to be fair to him, quite often gets unlucky, as in Glasgow when his kk got busted by 1010, with the case 10!

I dont know of once case where the presenter has not been 100% committed, in fact i understand they  may get to keep the winnings (or donate to charity) and with a 4k prize for 1st and decent money for other places they would be silly not to!

they are required to do tv stuff and when they are out they play sit and gos, but that does not mean they cannot take the tourney seriously!

That is NOT correct. The Presenters are NOT asked to forego their tournament for the sake of SNG's. That, with respect, is not an opinion, it's a fact. As Norman & Trevor have proved.

Sky Poker do NOT do, or say this. When Michelle pushed with 9-10, she had 4 x Big Blinds, in Level 2.

What may NOT be fair is that, quite often, I personally put a £10 or £20 Bounty on the Presenter's head, that's my own money, & it's done for fun. The SPT's are about having some fun, that is the spirit & ethos of them. I say all sorts of cruel things too, about Presenters, Analysts, & various players - that's half the fun, we are there to enjoy ourselves. It's important, if planning to play an SPT, that everyone be aware of this.

Mr Orford & Mr Giddens. I shall be present on water-carrying duties, & to abuse Dylan, & all things Welsh.

If anyone says that Orford "throws" his Tourney, to do the SNG's, I'll scream. He's just genuinely awful.*

The Presenters, by the way, use their OWN money to play the PTP SNG's. So imagine how much that costs Rich, who is on a run of 47 straight exits in those. Their SPT Entries are paid for by Sky Poker. What more motive could there be for them to do their best?

Loved the PLO8 last night! We must do it again, too.

    * To be fair to Orford, his Glasgow SPT exit was a cooler. He had K-K v Tens, and a Ten had been folded, so the binker was the case Ten.

Oh good I haven't met Ed yet, would be nice to chat to him about certain hands!! lol You and Orford - together - in real life - for a whole weekend!? I cant imagine what that is like... I hope i can make it...I intend to play the UKIPT in Brighton In July, I hope it doesn't clash with that.

PLO8? I didn't play last night, I thought I would have a day off from playing like a monkey resulting in you talking all my monies! I don't imagine I will be doing much tonight, so I shall join in if there is a game going!

Not sure, but most of us plan to get down to Swansea on the Friday night, (me deffo) to play the Friday Tourney.

Last night? Ugh, I confused you with a proper player - Cowgomoo.

I'm having a right mare today, I really am.

Ye I'll probably get down there for the Friday night if I go like at Luton (I think it will be hard to top that weekend - was brilliant).

I have a 'thing' about self-deal tourneys though. I have never played one as I don't really play small stakes tournaments in casinos and I really don't like the thought of having to pay for the pleasure of dealing myself...why cant these casino card-rooms take a leaf out of DTD's book?

The SPT will NOT be self-dealt.

Not sure about the Friday night, though. But, much as I personally dislike "self-deal", there is usually a nominated "dealer" who does the Dealing.

As to your DTD comment, well I'm afraid there is only ONE DTD, & nowhere comes anywhere near it when it comes to standards. It is different class.

i'm a bit confused here, you say the presenter are not allowed to "go deep" in the spt so they have to donk off their chips, then you say michelle was 2 off the cash bubble.that would mean she went out in 18th place? so 18th out of 150 is hardly "donking off chips?"

Was this pre-flop?? I dont know the ins and outs but if all this is true and it was pre flop, I think you have a valid point.  That looks well dodgy
