I haven't played many main events for a long time but it wouldn't be strictly correct to say "first".  ;-)

    Thanks.

    He's such a LUCKBOX!

But really, it was a spectacular win. He was down to the felt, but just "found his spots" beautifully, & with uncanny accuracy.

I had position on him for a goodly while, but he just mullered me, by reversing position a treat, & I had no answer.

I could not be more pleased for him.

Later, a bunch of us, Mere included, played some Hi-Lo until about 4am, which, err, did not go "quite so well", shall we say. I managed to turn Quad Kings only to walk into a rivered Royal, oucharoonee, & dropped a few bob during a 4 hour sess, so I can hardly attribute it to bad luck. We had Brownndog & Llama raising relentlessly, & they are both Kings of Binkage. ;)

A memorably enjoyable night, it must be said.

The Quads v Royal hand was a real beaut.

The J & Q were already out, (Flop J-Q-K, 2 clubs) & I had my Set of Kings already, but no flush re-draw.

The Turn was the oh-so-beautiful (but be careful what you wish for) King of Clubs, for MY Quads, & his Royal.

    * Earlier, I mistakenly said I turned Quads, & he rivered his Royal. That was incorrect.

I didn't laugh; at all; hardly.

It was indeed a memorable evening/night/morning and I thought it only decent to reinvest some of my winnings back into the poker economy.

Thanks again to everyone for all the generous comments.
