Did I lose the minimum? Or can i get off this cheaper?

This is a deepstack, player X was always theiving my blind with min bets etc and i was playing back at him. This time his betting was a lot different and i was suspicious he was strong.

My question is, do i need to bet so much, or at all, on the turn, to find out? would it be better to bet less on turn or would it be better to check behind and then call/fold on end depending on bet size?

I feel a bit of a mug betting the turn so much when I sensed that i was behind when he checked it. But, i do have a fairly strong hand HU.

Firstly you shouldn't show the hand of opponant. On turn I check behind then re-evalute river bet.

Personly I put a pot size re-raise on flop to try to stop them hitting any potential flush or striaght! So if I lost here I would have lost a little more than you did!
ps I would also do this with trip 10s

if hes very aggro then check back turn.  he can easily be going AI here with tonnes of draws just to put you in a tough spot, knowing that you are so deep that its gonna be impossible for you to call unless he runs into the very top of your range.

What do you find out on the turn by betting?!

There are trillions of hands that if he is aggressive he could be check shoving which you are ahead of. I'd bet fold the turn unless I didn't like him then i'd bet snap call. IF he's very aggro you could just check back turn call any river.
