You have the option to at least check. Is there any situation (other than toilet etc) where you would fold ?

Yeah when I have an embarrassing hand on the river that cant possibly win, I fold to prevent anybody looking in the hand history to further my embarrassment ;)

lol - I do it alot on the river, click fold when I have nothing, maybe 7 high, and there is weakness being shown from several players in front of me.

My mind starts working, I start thinking "I can steal this" - "How much to bet, to get 3 folds, they obviously have nothing"

So before these thoughts have time to come together, Ive already clicked fold, as obviously they're gonna call me with their bottom pair bottom kicker, or their missed flush draw, and they think King high is still good.

Same as i'll fold with a bad hand which has seen the river and has no part of the board so no point checking as i dont want others to see my cards

my specialty is actually calling pre-flop/being the raiser then open folding the flop. I really confused everyone including myself when I did that lol

I flopped trips that's the worst thing. I raised got about 5 callers wasn't paying attention and hate people wasting time so when I realised i'd slowed the game down on the flop I open folded out of respect then saw the board and was like zomg wat dids I havs.

That was a proper funny one, no one can put me on that hand!!

I was playing like 50 hours a week live at dtd so I felt the regs needed to see 'I could fold a hand'

Sometimes I fold when in a 3+ way DYM pot to encourage action between the other players, but only if they're short-stacked. In a DYM, when you have a big stack, any action between short stacks is good news, with your big stack out of the equation they're more likely to start flinging chips around and eliminating each other.

Sorry did not know how to send it as a link, but as you can see above here are some of the reasons for folding and not checking !!!

If I've got total air on the river I want my oppos to see it.  More chance of them calling me when I have the nuts then

Sometimes you make a complete mess of a hand, particularly if on tilt. It is best to fold to stop yourself getting into more trouble!!

Sometimes when the minx hand 3h5h has got me into a mess once again I will fold just like the others have said above to avoid the general laughter at my expense, which hurts even when you can't see them laughing. lol

Especially in dym's there is often an"away" player and it gets the blinds around to him quicker before he reconnects - or whatever.
