He will have the flush here a lot of the time. But as you have no reads, a crying call is probably ok...

Shove and try to get him to fold the Q high flush.

I would be calling here, but i think fold is the best option, for some reason i always call in these situations it always looks weird to me, i know this is probably a leak in my game so i would appreciate it if someone could tell me what makes them fold here.

because we beat a bluff and there are like no hands in his range that are bluffs

Dunno whether i could fold in this spot, Definately should have bet on the turn as you dont really have enough information he could have a number of hands here and is representing a flush.

As played i would call here, could be beaten but i think he would make the same play here with any smaller set even two pair but cant see him having a straight. So either has the flush and good luck to him here or you got it

young_gun, on this board texture a set or two pair is a bluff catcher, which means you only beat a bluff and when you bet only better hands are calling(i.e a bluff). not many people turn two pairs / sets into bluffs. since we have no reads its an easy fold

why cant villain have a straight btw  A8,68,78,89 would all play like this i imagine. he might not bet the river with a straight but the pot is quite small so i would think he will

What do others think about betting the turn?  Would that be a  better play ? I didnt want to bloat the pot too much on that board.

i think the check is fine on the turn then fold river.  the only problem is that the check on the turn means that  villain's raise on the river can now be small enough for you to consider leaking chips by calling.  as played still fold the river
