Right ok im expecting a row for limping with Q9 in position. I had been extremely quiet on the table and hadnt really got involved.

So heres the situation. Q9 suited as you can see. Really hoping for a specific flop i know. I get it checked down till i miss a backdoor flush and hit a queen, no betting at this point till suddenly an opponent shoves, hes been involved in nearly every hand and has made moves like this before. Is it a simple fold now or am i justified in making the call ?

with that stack, at this stage, Don, you are looking for a spot to double up, this means waiting for a hand you can raise with-- you are past the limping stage here--- you need to raise 3 or 4x bb and shove the flop, so you need a proper hand---you can't afford to limp with a hand that you might half hit with and have to call a bet to fish---- patience I tell you!!---again----lol

and you can't call there, unless you know for sure that you are dealing with a proper flopwit flaphead--lol

getting pretty frustrating reading the same posts with the same mistakes....every hand there is an excuse to limp preflop, you cant justify it with "i've been really quiet", "im not getting hands", they will come and if they dont then raise with marginal hands in position dont throw away chips without any plan or initiative.

start taking on board the advice we keep giving and u wont end up in these silly spots

lol pick a better spot, fold pre or even on the river by them going all in should fold here cant see them making this bet as a bluff no matter how active there are

ive seen this before with someone with aces calling then checking until river then shoving makes no sense lol.

i think the villain is just as bad for limping with qq with just 11bb!!!!

    very odd hand!!!!

im just shoving here on the button one limp 250 in pot and 11BB. Perfect spot for shove, then you go out to QQ but at least you made the right move.

As others said it's an easy fold pre flop! As played though, there's no need to compound your first mistake by calling the river - don't get involved (especially as X is one of the shorter stacks and on the BB next hand) as you've got no real idea where you stand so just fold and let the mistake be 100 chips not 1200...you might feel like you're folding the best hand but you want to keep stack for when it's shove time/bubble so that you're never in danger! You said you were looking for specific flop but I'm guessing second pair, average kicker wasn't one of them? So why get involved with it on the river for over half your chips? Think and learn from it Don...
