Aaaargh, auto logged off while typing a long forum post (again), how annoying!

I just spent at least 10 minutes typing out a reply on a forum thread. When I clicked 'add post' my text vanished and my post hadn't been added to the thread, all because my log-in had timed out while I was typing my reply. I can't be bothered typing it all out again now, it's gone forever.

This has happened to me before, it must happen to other forum members too.

Possible solutions; typing on the forum should be treated the same as playing poker, you do not get automaticly logged out of the site. Alternatively your text is saved while you have the chance to log back in.

Before I add a long post I always do a Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C just to place a copy of it on the clipboard.  Then if the worst does happen it's just a case of Ctrl+V to get all your text back again.

This happened to me a long long time ago, but I'm sure I just got a login prompt popup in the middle of the screen... credentials entered and the post appeared.
    Unless I'm imagining it.

Always a good idea to copy the text so you can paste it back in Gary-- any disconnection can change your ip address and log you out
