An Idiot Move, or an understandable shove?

This is the hand that sent me crashing out of the primo. I'm really annoyed at myself because of the outcome, but not sure if i'd play it any different because of the nature of my play. Is this an Idiot Move, or an understandable shove?

At the end of the day, I had him on AK, AQ, or smaller pair.

Much better. I'd probably shove all in preflop and try and just take down the 600+ in the middle already unless the raiser is very tight.

As is on the flop you are making it tough to get paid.  he might well fold 99 and below once you shove and so you're only getting called by better pairs and Tx. I'd rather call flop and just pretty much not fold the turn very often rather than jam over the flop bet. I think that gets the money in better. Otherwise ul, people hit trips. it happens. move on, keep playing well. GL at the tables.
