I have to say something here, for all you guys and gals who want to play the big Tournaments on SkyPoker !!

Look for the value in the Satellite's !!

All of us on the forum have been 'banging on about 'deep-stack' and 'big money tournaments' and asking for Satellite's to enter them !!
Well a big 'thank you' to Skypoker for giving us all the chance with the  6 quid direct entry satellite , giving guarantee  place  for a minimum of  10 players in these  !!

Value it doesnt get better ...Thanks to all at Sky the presenters and Suits xx

Yes this is very good value but a lot of the time they fail to get 10 players so don't run!  For example the one starting at 11pm in exactly 1 minute has 4 runners.

    I really can't understand it.

Personally I never pay the full boat for a tourney, maximum of 2 sats is my limit. Might've hurt my game come main event, but hey ho!!!!!!!!!

PLENTY of Satellites are scheduled this afternoon for tonight's £2,000 Guaranteed £100 Deepstack Showdown.

With the weather so nice, a smaller field tonight will be understandable - but that means more valooooooooooo.

        hi bennydip
I have found great value on sat. recently i tend to spend £1 £2-50 Buy-in on a sat my favourite ones at the moment are BH & Velocity  i've tried the Open ones but haven't quite got used to format yet (am working on it) so i play one of the speed tourney's that are £1-10 buy-in if i cash in top 10 i use the winnings to pay towards buy-in of the open that night so i get good value

     for example

yesterday i played £100 speed cashed £8/the Open buy-in was £11 so i just had to add £3 + £1-10 original stake so last nights open cost me £4-10 ( which is under my bankroll allowance of £5-50 for weekend tourney's) i ended up coming 67th & cashed £21 take away £4-10 gave me a profit of £16-90  4x investment

now thats what i call value

        cheers
        dtw

ps bennydip i will reply to the post on my diary thread later am just off to find a sat for tonight

     Yes DTW  Nice work..
The thing with poker is to get a 'Game Plan'and from what i see with the way your doing things , you have exactly that  !
Stay focused on what your goal is and don't try to run before you can walk,
So many players think that  after  one or two MTT win they can beat the game and go for broke, in most cases that's exactly what happens.
Keep your budget, this game is for life if you let it be  and enjoy the journey.. both poker and life.
I have read alot about players, you could do worse than read about Stu Unger, this guy  was in my opinion the best there has ever been, he had everything as a poker player, books and articles are available on the Internet about him. A quote worth remembering from him was :
"It's hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Don't let anyone tell you different. Think about what it's like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside. That probably sounds harsh. But that's the way it is at the poker table. If you don't believe me, then you're the lamb that's going off to the slaughter. "

Maybe Sky should consider some smaller priced satellite for this event.
     Starting around  1 00, 3 00 , 5 00 and  (7 00  for the following night) through the week (daily) ....
2 pound fast Sats to a Semi final at 7 00 each evening ....

example = 2.20 entry,  1 in 10 go through to semi = 22 semi = 1 in 5 go through to Sunday Deepstack 2k gtd

It's worth a look,  what with it being summer months and times are hard for everyone at the moment.

As the Tesco add goes, 'Every little helps" !!
