Poker is gambling because you'll never know what hands your opponant has and poker has recieved such pluadiits for the falseness of "being able to read" your oppenants hands, FFS COME ON! its absolutely ludacris and scientists will tell you all this exellent hand reading is B/S. If you're into poker its because you've won a decent pot starting out but no one ends up a long term winner and thats why every poker fan trys to convince themselves by reading books, telling themselves you can teach your self to read hands in the fear of actually coming around to the realisation that poker is just LUCK and luck alone. Does get on my nerves that people say poker is the self proclaimed prophecy and the art to all intelligence and those who play poker are better than the general public, if i pulled out a deck of cards and said raise 50 times with 50 different two cards in my hand at random i bet you that you couldn't guess at least 5 cards right!? oh wait but its meant to be different story when you're sitting a table right? the word raise actually means something then...complete and utter tosh. madhorse if poker is just luck how do people make a living from it? Are they just lucky for a life time? Posted by BlackFish3
if you've got money to enter this WSOP 8 seater events when u get $25k for 6th then all you have to do is survive and wait for a big hand a lump, get into 6th and you'll always make profit but you're only as good as the cards you're opponant has which makes it a luck fest.
Type is poker luck in google and over 5.2million results come up, ask any man in the street would you have more chance turning ove a profit putting £10 win on Denman or sitting at a 1p/2p table with £10.
This whole poker revolutuion makes you kind of sick when you think about it, its just like a big hyperbole that japan had with Pokermon, many people young and old will go skint chasing the dream and realise they've wasted many good years chasing on a bit of luck, what you dont realise is thesepoker presenters can sit back on a daily wage and have no worries yet you take advice from them and none of them have even gone deep in a big tournament? come on guys seriously.
why didnt alana sugar make his money in poker if it was such a skillfull profitable art? why didnt bill gates make his money in poker if it was such a skillfull profitable art?
You're better off trying to start your own business or getting a good degree under your belt and having a nice solid income of like 45k + then entering a few tournaments every year whilst on holiday when you got the money than chasing a dream
I would say there are probably only 5% of people who can make money of poker and 4% of thei s the actual casion tht holds the event and the 1% being the bloke who wins that big WSOP tornament for millions.
I luv to gamble at poker but have not set foot in the bookies for over 3 years,Now,my better half hated it when i gambled in the bookies BUT poker she is totally cool with.So on summing up poker is a FORM of gambling but NOT in the true sense of the word, dav
i play poker because i love poker the money is gr8 and i do earn from it, it def aint 5 percent who earn from it madhorse if it was then 95 percent lose and that would mean empty tables everywhere! Its the thrill that keeps u going and your not only as good as the hand ur opponent has, your only as good as the hand u make your opponent think u have got!!!! Remember that!! I played a hand once on 888.com and won 1400 dollars with two pair 7s and 10s and that was because i made my opponent believe i had nothing! U can say that was a one off but every torny i have played in which is over 20 quid i have cashed in and every single live tournament i have cashed in aswell! Ok fair enough i havent got to double figures in live tornys but that aint the point! If it was all based on luck we would all sit around a table roll a dice and guess what number is coming up! Ur talking like u are in that so called 95 percent bracket but are on a 45k a year job! Poker is fun it is a strategy gamble with untold maths and logic involved i think i have got my point across and im sure u will come back with an with some amazing statement how all poker players are brainwashed into thinking there amazing players who will earn fortunes because presenters on tv say we will!! I will do u a deal i will show u it isnt luck with poker! I will play u heads up and guarantee i will beat u thats a challenge i hope u accept! And we will play it on the free money table so we aint gambling and u wont lose any of your money from ur 45 k a year job

Those who see the light at the end of the tunnel can go into that field of work given they're such great readers of hands/cards.
But of course poker's gambling.
