He checked the turn was he looking to reraise or did the flush worry him as much as you. Does seem a large value bet on the river but as you say 4nl... think you have to fold here IMO

Obviously I don't think you can ever rule out that he may well have the flush here but I think it's more likely that he's got some kind of Ax hand. 

Either way I think you're losing to much more than you're beating so this is a snap fold for me.
