vul, dont think you gave him the odds but tbf no-one plays odds at that level, just chase your draws and he got lucky. very Gut check on the river donkey :o)

Played it well just unlucky, You have got nearly 90 blinds in the pot, id be happy to take that and not risk them rivering the flush.

Nothing more you could of done imo, played it uber aggro which u need to do at this level, just didnt come off this time. (Nice river check BTW)

In reply to the odds question.
Your raise on the flop gave him exactly 3 to 1 to make the call. An oesd on the flop is about 2 to 1 to hit by the river so you gave him better than great odds to make the call. It is very difficult to take away the odds for these big draws and even a shove at this point is liable to be called with you not being as big a favourite as you would like despite your monster hand.

you're looking at odds completely wrong, as there is betting left the villain has no idea he will be calling this raise and then seeing both the turn and the river. he can only really consider his 8 outs on the turn, so he needs to be getting approx 6/1 to hit. ofc u can then consider implied odds.

i appreciate i have explained this horribly, but i've only just got up!!

    also fwiw i'm jamming river

so would you jam the river to rep the flush????

i see what you are saying but at this level i dont think they were ever folding here!!!!

to be honest i thought they had hit there flush on the river!

seing they called me down until the river!!!!

Why do we need to rep the flush?? We have a set.

Jam and get called by an ace/2 pair etc.

Btw this is why you shouldn't include results in your post.

well i had a feeling my hand was no good so i checked river.

yes i had a set on a straightening and flushing board and imo i saved myself by not betting.

    yes im a nit lol.

The hand he shows at the end, will allow you to work out whether your check behind on the river was right, or wrong.

If he showed ace queen, then you definitely missed a bet.

If he shows the straight, flush, or higher set, then your check behind on the river was correct.

    ......Which it was, well played.

You played the hand well, but the villain should of got all your money on the turn when you were pot committed !!

Thank your lucky stars lol !!

WE ARE PLAYING AGAINST A RANGE OF HANDS!!!! If we have a winning hand 80% of the time and he has the winning hand 20%, we are printing money by shoving every time (assuming he calls a decent amount of the time when he's behind which he will because an 8NL player who min donk bets twice is never folding an ace here).

Honestly the way you think is going to lose you so much value in the long run.

In terms of doing whats best to get us most money we are playing against a range of hands that the villain might hold, thats a fact.

But if you want to p 1ss about trying to pick what exact hand your opponent has this time and acting accordingly then good luck with that.

Seriously do you actually not put people on ranges? Wow.
