Hi Rosco, I think you played it fine pre, a nice re-raise and you didn't want to lose your 'customer' so that was good! On the flop, it was abit straighty so i would of bet more than 450 (unless you knew he was going to do what he did), more along the lines of 8-900 would be better, but in this situation it didn't matter because he shoved, and you were just unlucky from there on!

yeah but your "customer" is not gonna fold to a 1.8 to 2k raise imo

    +1

Make flop bet bigger, you're giving him a good price to call for the str8 with the 450 bet. I think there was 1300 in the middle so make it atleast 900.
As it was, it didn't matter but be sure to make flop bet bigger in the future when there are 2 str8y or flushing cards on the flop.

You got all the money in as a big favourite, why would you want to have done anything different?

yeah true.. however my plan was to enduce a raise with a less than half pot bet. would a check raise all in have been more effective in this case?

iBluff - Rosco's opponent didn't re-raise pre! I don't know where your getting that from, are you saying he should have shoved pre? If so, that is not getting any value whatsoever for his hand. I highly highly doubt his opponent would have called a pre flop shove, with KQ off.

I don't think you need to get too cute with the hand, it's probably hit him so it's all about getting value and making him pay to catch a possible straight. I thought you played it fine apart from the bet on the flop needed to be more. I like the 3 bet pre and the amount that you bet was good too
