I walked 1,008 miles in 48 days (5 of those 48 days were rest days). That's more than 2 million steps, each one with a 14KG pack on my back.
During the walk I lost about a stone in weight, I finished with a nice tan and feeling fitter than ever. I wore out 2 pairs of boots and 2 pairs of socks on the way. Luckily I stayed free of injury and only ever had 2 blisters, they didn't bother me too much and had both cleared up by the end. The weather was pretty good most of the way.
It was a wonderful adventure, I enjoyed every single day and met lots of wonderful people. It's hard to pick a highlight, but the 8 days spent walking along off-road trails through the Highlands of Scotland were amazing.
Every day I posted a blog during my journey, if a link is allowed here it is;
