In a word no, you had position on the button and stacks were between 25-55 big blinds, so no risk of an all in after your limp, you were open ended on the flop and it played accordingly, the only critism might be a raise pre flop in an attempt to steel the blinds, i prefer being the aggressor in position pre flop, but i am not folding decent conectors pre flop

fold or raise pre (think you need some help with the basics, - why we raise? why we call? etc etc)

Why min raise the flop? Do you want him to call? - why? Do you want him to fold? - why?

Whats the idea on the turn? Why did u bet? Why did u bet that much? What is your bet trying to achieve?

    Same for the river...?

You're obviously someone who wants to try and improve their game, u post alot and seem to be enthusiastic about the game.

I spend alot of time watching people play online poker, and talking about hands on msn/email/forums etc etc - So if you want me to try help u get better, then pm me.

Im no beaneh, but Ive crushed the lower levels, in all 3 disciplines, MTT, SNG and cash, and with only a 30 min session on skype/msn whatever, I reckon I cud help u and make the game seem alot easier.

    Just don't mention omaha!!!!! :o

i called pre as i was happy to see a flop cheap, if he raises then id fold. i re raised min just to get the pot that little bit bigger for if i do hit my str, again i would prob fold to another raise. turn card paired and seen the check so thought that maybe id played the hand in a way that i could represent the 9s. made my hand on river seen a check again and figured he cant of had much or he would of raised the river instead of giving me the chance to check aswel.
that was what i was thinking playing the hand.
thanks for the offer and would be great to get some more advise of you sometime soon
    thanks

Can't really see what you did wrong there m8. on the button 7 8. Up and down on the flop. Post-flop you raise in position. Bet out on turn. Hit straight  on river. No aggression towards you on any street. Personally  i thought bad play post-flop by xxx by just calling the raise.

only criticism really is the weak raise post-flop and bet on the turn. If xxx had re-raised on turn how much would  you value your hand

lol surely he was the fish!!! you played it fine in my eyes. I wouldnt raise pre because i would want callers with that hand and the re raise on flop is fine but the reason for the re raise there is so he would check the turn i.e giving u a free river. So dont bet the turn next time.

    my action

    pre flop : call

    Flop: re raise min

    Turn: Check

    River: 3/4 bet

Xxxx is the fishy imo, not in love with your play though here mate

pre i would fold, if you do want to play the hand raise as you have enough behind 3x raise if you wanna play

post flop either you calland hope to hit rather then waste chips and assess if xxx bets, or if your going to re-raise i would make more 600-800 1 because you can take down the pot without hitting which is good whether your straight drawing or flushing, also if you do hit that magic card you can get the opponents whole stack

xxxx played much worse imo, but not played well mate

Table dynamic is important here, if you think they're happy to give you a free limp, it's not so bad. But by far the better option is to raise, as anyone with a big hand will then reraise and let you know to get out. 9/10 they won't, and they'll either make up with a weakish hand or fold. If you flat, they could squeezeraise you with literally any two cards, rightly seeing your limp as weak, and then you fold to an inferior hand.

Postflop, the raise gives you added power whatever cards come down- if an A or K comes down, both those cards are very much in your range by raising. Therefore, if you then bet out on this flop after seeing two checks, you'll almost always take it down. As it is, you have a very legit hand postflop with the oesd, and are able to put in a sizeable bet.

I think you could have bet more down the streets, but the only thing I'm not a fan of really is limping preflop, long term that will only ever get you in trouble. On the button, great place to raise with connected cards, but I'd recommend getting in the habit of raising or folding preflop once the blinds are above 50/100.
