Quite late on in a dym, no real reads apart from everytime a hands gone to showdown everyone has had a decent hand..

I know i should of raised pre! i had AA and JJ the two hands prior and didn't wanna come across as a maniac and get 3-bet tbh, might of put me in a tough spot and im no good with them.

As played fold, regardless of your previous hands i would be raising it 350-400 if someone plays back then re-evaluate. Wouldnt have minded the call if later position and couple of people had called already but under the gun this will never be good, raise or fold ftw

Not very good at DYM's but I'd guess the limp is pretty horrid, and a fold is probably better than a limp!!

Raise it up, and stack off on the flop against 1 opponent.

As played I would fold on the flop.

Yeah i guessed thats where i went wrong, cheers guys.

maybe i was influenced by watching the poker million i'd recorded this morning, where romanello limped in early with queens!

I like your opening statement, I do this alot, you should always be aware of your image, and the last thing you want is people playing back at your when you have an average hand like 99. I often do things like this to keep my tight solid image so can bluff later on.

I'm so bad at DYM's so I dont know in this situation, but in a MTT im getting it all in here.

limp, limp, min raise definitely doesnt suggest you were beat pre flop. I like a raise to 1,000 pre flop

min raiser must know he'll get at least 2 callers, so unlikely to have a premium hand.

Exactly, let's not get to showdown with pocket 9's. Let's raise it up, and take some blinds. Happy days.

It's the 6th best starting hand in NLHE, out of 169. It's definitely an above average hand pre flop. (which is where the mistake was made in this hand)

Simon, if you're gonna make it 1k pre flop, you might as well open jam???? Why so big???

    Agreed.

But if we shove here what calls us? Unlikely an underpair calls as its a DYM, so we are only getting called by AK/Q/J and premium pairs. Against 1 or 2 oppo's yeah I think lets squeeze it and shove but with 3 others in the hand there is a high chance of this getting called and we are racing (at best) in a DYM which is really bad play.

And as the OP said, he had raised a few hands in a row before that, so there will be non believers out there which increases the chance of being called. Because lets face it, poker players ALWAYS bluf and NEVER have a good hand... right?

Raising to 1k shows we are committed to hand - they should realise they have no fold equity to come over the top again. To me effectively same as shoving, but in some ways a shove can look weaker as it looks clearer that we dont really want a call

either raise or fold pre (when i say raise i dnt mean ship it or 1k - personally i make it 300, but i dont know what your standard opening raises are)

as played you HAVE to fold the flop
