Hi guys first post here.
Last night was in a live tournament, where I struggled at the start as everyone bought extra chips so was low from the start so thought it be best to play really tight. after busting out once and reburying back in with more chips I started to make some moves knocking some players out so got a bit more confident. I soon became one of the chip leaders on the table, a new player was then introduced from another table on who had 3X more chips than anyone else and from his play he seamed very loose and aggressive. The hand which I thought would anyone else be able to get out of and did I make a really bad call was:
hero in the big blind: J 10 off

folded around to the villain in the small blind who calls. Hero checks.

Flop: 8 J 10

Hero bets 3k with blinds at 600 800

villain raises all in and hero calls.

Villain shows 7 9 off

board comes J 8

would most people of folded in that position?
Any help be fantastic.

Louie

yo fred or lou, welcome to the clinic dude

I personally would not have got away from it, would have checked pre but either way moneys going in on the flop, can discount them having a set due to call pre. could have Q9 or 97 but good luck to them. may help a bit if you say stack size of villain how much did you have to call his all in? did you have less or more? only small factors so probably same result
