Turned nut str8, river brings paired board, whats your action?

This is from the Monday £22 Deepstack mtt. The villain is a very solid medium stake cash player with a good tight mtt game. He will view me as a nit too, although we are both capable of making moves. Although moves this early would be uncharacteristic for both of us.

This being said, it's early and i am stacked up due to double up on other table so i decide to take a look at a flop with connectors from the bb.

I flat the turn to try to get paid more on river. im putting him on a strong hand so i should prob raise turn but dont want to scare him off. he is good enough to fold a big hand but he wont put me on 56.

Whats your move on the river? Also would u raise the turn?

if he's a good reg i fold pre as ur oop wiv 6 high and its going to be difficult to get paid when we hit - see above

    as played raise turn

plus, althou u have ~12k, the effective stack is still only ~6k

    Definitely fold pre.

As played if he's good he will bet an overpair on the river so I'd be c/shoving.

    I like your flat turn.

Given this then I think he's gonna be firing river with any overpair.  check/shove IMO BUT if he is good and knowing your image I doubt he's gonna be calling a shove without a 3/house so a check/call is ok too.

id def flat call turn. id be tempted to lead the river if i thought he is going to be thin value raising with overpairs, if you dont think he will and he is a solid player i think c/cing is fine as he can bet/fold overpairs and A5 here pretty easily

Thanks for your comments, i have learnt that:

    1. I should fold pre.
    2. I should c/c river versus this type of villain as he will only call a shove with a hand that is beating me. He played it very well btw.

    Anyway, this is what happened.
