106 runners in tonights tournament which was great for a £5.50 buyin. Tonights winner and runner up were new to the deepstacks with OhMyGosh winning and SamanthaIn coming 2nd. I personally went out fairly early, i think around mid-table, but make up for it by winning the £22 deepstack, yey me :D

Congrats MMM and well done Flash on the win.

Quick question, when the new leagues start next week will they still be based on averages?

I think averages is best, because otherwise the people that can play more will win hands down... but i may up the minimum games played as you will always be playing the division that suits your BR. This way you cant get someone who only plays a few games then "retires" and wins it. You will need to consistantly play and consistantly do well if you want to win

    That's a great question.

First up, we need to have something that is easy for Charles to collate every night - it's very time-demanding, & we are all grateful for his efforts.

Second, it's just not possible to find a completely fair way of doing this. But it's just fun, so if it comes our distorted, too bad, nobody will be overly bothered.

The oddity with averaging however, is that is does cause anomolies.

    Take this scenario.

The lower buy-in Events attract more runners. That = more points. Fine.

The higher buy-in Events (£10 + 1) attract much smaller fields. = Less points. Fine.

So, as an example, my running average is currently, I think, about 68 points.

And if we got, say, 50 runners for tonight's Tourney, & I won it......my average would drop!

In fact, it's almost certain that anyone in the League who plays tonight's "tikay Tourney" - assuming it gets, say, 50 to 60 runners, will move DOWN the League, rather than up.

    Stats, stats, & lies.......

Really, I will enthusiastically support any League, it's just fun. But finding a "fair formula" is nigh on impossible.

I think Charles has got as close as possible to ideal, but it'll never be perfect.

Keep up the good work Charles, & well done on your win in the £22 Deepie last night.

    Hi

As I understand it, Flash does the league based on average points for 3 tournies or more, is this is wong I am sure I will be corrected.

hi flash thought i'd throw this into the hat     £3 buy-in =  half point

                                                               £5 & £7 buy-in  = 1 point

                                                                    £10 buy-in  = 1 & half points

this might even points for runners maybe

            great work m8

From what I gather from Charlie, he's going to separate the tourneys into 3 leagues - £3, £5 and £10. That way the league table averages will be a fair reflection for each one.

So theres like a new league every week?

And to get on it you just play deepstacks?

And the better you do the more points you get?

I've been away from the Forums for few weeks so I'm confused :(

Phil is right in what he said. I am going to split it into 3 leagues from the 1st of september.. this will run MONTHLY and at the end of each month sky have kindly donated a prize to the winner of each league. What it is, is yet to be confirmed but probs either trny entry or sky merchandise.

Luke in answer to your questions.... 1. Like i said above it will be MONTHLY (continuous as long as it gets support).  2. It is for the 7pm 'orfordable deepstacks' (these change names daily) but basicly the 12 min blind 5000 chip trnys starting at 7pm.  3.  Points are based on how long you last... simply 1st out = 1 point, 2nd out 2 points etc... 5 bonus points for a final 10 finish and bonus 10 points for winner.

Sorry i havent played tonight.. had to pick the nippers up from my parents, ill play the 9pm BH and thats probs it for tonight

    Charles you are a star!

I'll buy you a drink for your efforts at the SPUKT that IS going to be happening in 2010 isn't it TK?

And it'll be coming to Bournemouth or Southampton!
