Ok the villain was an ok player, looked like they were pushing it around for a while as this was on the bubble

i was 2nd so was difficult one, btw only £2.20 stt  so win £9, 2nd £3 i always go for the win and not to fussed about bubbling

    Fold pre.  If you are gonna raise then do it properly.

    As played fold river.

    The only hand we beat that calls us on the flop are FDs.

    EDIT:  To add I don't see why we are getting involved OOP with junk when we have 50bb.  3rd in chips has 20bb.  You say you wanna play for the win but if you just stay out of trouble and try and get into pots with the guy with 20bb then HU will be fairly even....and if you are thinking about making hero calls like this then you clearly think you have an edge on the chip leader...so why would you wanna bubble here :s

    It makes no sense to me.  You can't win if you get fancy play syndrome.

    Interesting i suppose this is player dependant but did think at the end whether he had King which i didnt think so and gathered ahead on turn then ahead on river. Agree with all responses thats why i have posted it did win the STT and usually would just fold it but as had folded quite a bit thought raise would be good and after 2nd pair on flop i think im ahead so bet out, then turn was good decide best way check call and so was river good for me. personally think king they would of played alot stronger didnt snap call but just was thinking about it and decided i was ahead although risky

    Who says? lol nope just reviewing hands from last night and thought this one stood out got it call but not the greatest play imo :o)

    I'm not a sng specialist but i think your mindset is completely wrong for sng's.
    You should be VERY bothered about bubbling!!  They aren't like mtt's where chip accumulation is vital at some stage and the payouts get increasingly larger.  You are playing for 2 prizes only.  With current chipstacks you should be aiming to at least get to the money.  The last thing you should be doing is mixing it with very marginal hands versus the person that can eliminate you.  ICM is a huge factor (google ICM poker strategy) and survival is your main aim until the bubble pops.  Obv if you get dealt a monster you play it strongly but 97o is a no-brainer insta fold.
    Maybe some sng specialists can give more info.

    lol thought so cheers cottlad, seriously 95% of the time i do not go against chip leader in this position sorry by not bothered by bubbling i just mean no fear of bubbling but agree should at least go for 2nd, i do ok at that level in sit n gos but would not deem myself a specialist i play more on feel tbh but can see this is bad

    Shelski good point although 1 cash, this STT. again i re-iterate this is bad and losing play i know that hence why i posted it but did get it right this one time.
