Download not updating or loading

I tried to log into sky, it says checking for updates for a while, then I get an error message, and thats as far as it gets

    Firewall issue in that it isn't receiving the response from the server?

    Make sure that Sky and AiR both have access

    adobe air.  its some kind of software that sky use with the download.  dunno about your firewall but with zonealarm you just have to open it up and theres a programme tab and i can select the kind of access i wanna allow.  i imagine most others have a similar interface

    well, i just switched off my firewall, but there is no change.  Still cant get into download
