Hey all,

An introduction. Im Ryan from Sheffield :) or Rotherham :( depending on which way you look at it lol. Been playing poker a while now 4+ years. Online, historically, i'd say I have been a bit of a fish. Live im a different player, love the psychology and body luangage of the live game. Have won a few tourneys in the local casino and gone deep in a few more, do alright in cash live. But im no Phil Laak!!

Anyway to my first question. Been playing these DoNs for a while now and do well. Would like to grind them part time to see where I stand with them. Would like to hear from anyone who plays these games regularly and what strategy do you use?

Where my games at right now (ill only be playing low buy in games on this site for a while)

First 3 levels

99% of the time all ins,

Early Position AA, KK

Middle  AA, KK, AK

Late Position  AA-QQ

SB AA-JJ, AK-AQ

Limp any pair to set mine from late psotion, even ealry if the table is passive.

Upto 150bb (my middle game strategy)

99% of the time all ins

Early AA-JJ, AK-AQ

Middle AA-99 AK-AJ

Late Any pair AK-A9

SB Any pair, any ace and any two picture cards

no more set mining

Late stage blinds

Early AA-99, AK-A9

Middle Any pair, Any ace

Late Any pair, any ace, and two picture cards and suited connectors

SB any two

Obviously this is based on a average chip stack. There would be reasons id be busier or more passive. If i have 4k+ with 3 players short stacked and waiting for 2 to bust out id probably just play AA-KK only. Why put myself at risk of getting drawn back into the mire? But on the other hand if im short stacked in the middle section of the game im playing premium hands against the big and other short stacks but im going to be very aggressive against the average stacks when there in blinds.

I know this is my version of quite a popular strategy but what would the great poker minds on here change? It all? or perphaps someone can see some leakage that I havent spotted. The strategy itself is from the bigger buy ins and it will be interesting to see how it plays against the smaller buy in games. I expect far more callers.

Thanks for reading, looking forward to seeing what you all think.

Good luck on the tables :) except against me ;)

ps this isn't my MTT strategy, im an animal on those lol :)

Hi welcome to the site, best of luck and thanks for posting

firstly i would never put 99% shove with Aces or whatever as its not always optimul i can understand you dont want to be outdrawn but over time would be more profitable first levels play strongly eg. 6-7 x bb with Aces/kings, with intent to stick em all in. however if called and multiway and dangerous straighty flushy board and people have pushed before just fold i. over time the all in will not be profitable cos you will get hands you dominate jj/1010 to fold which you want them to re-raise you or see a low flop and get their stack

as to strategy, i will try fold first few levels unless get a big hand then play strong if i do but dont be afraid to fold post flop need to trust your judgement. when blinds get higher the fact you have been so tight earlier on should give you a better image so you can shove k8 or similar hands if no-ones to act first. also you want to see whos trying to bully with weak hands(providing they have shown) and if blinds and other chipstacks permit dont be afraid to push with markinals such as k10 etc even if they have rag ace not alot in it likely you could be ahead

anyways best of luck at the tables
