Double Your Money League Points Changed!

Hi everyone,

After numerous calls regarding the league points structure on Double Your Money tournaments, we have now made changes to benefit you!

As of today, we now offer league points to the TOP 3 players as opposed to the top 2 as it previously stood. So, finishing 3rd in a DYM of less than £1.10 can still earn you 3 league points! There is plenty to play for!!

The table below shows the old structure compared to the NEW structure in the right-hand column:

DYM Entry Fee

Old League Points

New League Points

Less than £1.10

1st 4 points - 2nd 3 points

1st, 2nd & 3rd = 3 points each

Between £1.10 - £5.50

1st 8 points - 2nd 6 points

1st, 2nd & 3rd = 7 points each

Greater than £5.50

1st 12 points - 2nd 9 points

1st, 2nd & 3rd = 10 points each

Hope that makes sense to you all and will give you the incentive to play more DYM tournaments on Sky Poker and earn more points!

Enjoy!

    Fantastic news Jordan, Thank You!!

Just wondering if there are any plans to end the DYM game automatically after three people have cashed? This has also been raised many times before.

Ending the game at this point would be great for people that multi table the games, and on many other sites, the game ends at this point. Also gives people more time to set up other games so will benefit Sky too.

    Cheers

P.S ending satelite mtts when all seats are won is also another good change that could be brought in imo.

Hooray, common sense prevails at last!

When Greg's suggestion is implemented too the DYM tables will be set up perfectly.

It appears that this is going to implemented.

I'd just like to say that I think that it is a shame; not least because people have campaigned for it when it is of no benefit to them and a loss to others.
People who want to leave the table can close it down (or minimise it if becomes active again) - they are under no obligation to play on. This is a VERY minor inconvenience.

I played a micro-stakes PLO DYM game this morning with two people who were clearly fairly new to the game. After three fairly early casualties, they wanted to play on "properly".  They had paid their money and were entitled to a game in my opinion.
Closing the tables after three people are out deprives those people of this opportunity.

im with your merenovice i like to keep going as its good for your heads-up practise

It's no good for heads-up practise because there's nothing at stake, it might as well be play money. Most DYM specialists will have a weak heads-up game because it's not something they need. The only way to practise proper HU against people who know what they're doing is to sit at the SnG or cash HU tables.

A few months ago I felt my HU game wasn't up to sctratch when I made it to MTT final tables, so I took the time to play a couple of hundred matches on HU SnG tables spread over a few weeks. My HU game definitely improved. The last place I would have chosen to practise would be in DYMs.

    I disagree.
The game is what you make of it.
Not everyone needs money at stake to play poker to the best of their ability.
I have recently been playing quite a few DYMs. I consider my HU game to be adequate and am happy to play a DYM game to its conclusion if that is what my opponent wants.

Anyway, I'm feeling bad about hijacking this thread now.

Hi Vince, are you implying that this would be no benefit to me?

I disagree if so, because i may wish to multi table dyms from time to time, as i have done previously, and it is a great benefit. I have lost money before by missing a shove spot on the bubble because i am too busy trying to finish a game that should have ended already.

I accept your point about fun beginner games and i agree that this is important, but a dym for money is not the best medium for this imo. (perhaps keep it at the micro limits like £1 or less) but for the higher limits, i think the object of the game is to double your money... not to mess about... jmo

You don't have to finish the game.
Once you have cashed, ignore that game. I struggle to see why that is so difficult.

I am not really a DYM player but wouldn't the easy solution to this be an 'option' button for players to choose to leave a game when the top 3 cash?. If 3 decide to stay and play/or two.....the game continues. If 2 or all players choose to leave, game ends. Or am I missing something?

I always felt obliged to, coz I wanted the points. Also, it used to lag my computer running in the background.

Now that points are equal, and lag isn't an issue, then sitting out and letting the other 2 isn't an issue.

So I agree with ya Vince!

    Which means......

I disagree with Hoggers. lol (genuine this too!!)

Because it keeps popping up and beeping.. its ultra tilting! You close the table, up it comes again! if i turn off pop up blocker any new tables wont load.

Ok, lets compromise, ill have a button to press please that says end game, then my chips can be shared amongst the other two if they wish to continue.

Anyway i think we have exhausted this now on this thread. We discussed this at length previously HERE

Just a note to add to my previous comments , I believe a lot of people play on because of the point structure.
If every body got the same points , there would be no need to play on.
All other sites usually end the game when youu  are in the money.
They do this for stellites as well in mtts.
