Popups/tourny messages

recently had a 'dont miss out on xyz tourny' message pop up, I couldn't press ok or whatever to get rid of it though and had to shut the browser because refreshing the page brought up the right page but with the message coming up again which I couldn't get rid of. 

What is stupid is that i'm already registered for that tourny so there is zero reason for it to pop up on my comp.

is there someway we can get some settings so that we can choose whether we get these sort of messages popping up, same with the start and end popup windows on the download client.

    Sorry to awaken this old post, but I too am getting fed up of being forced to click OK on tourney advertising popups. I play via the browser client and can't do anything until I've clicked OK on the annoying popups. They always seem to popup at the worst possible time as well!

    I'm not interested in MTT's. Is there an option to disable these popup adverts? Or maybe they can be more discretely scrolled along the lobby or something? At the very least, they should NOT interfere with game play!

    just phone c/care and told to switch from download and i/e, ok new game tonite but taking pi ss, honestly why do at weekend when f/all works at sky for this site, seriously getting ffffff off with it, and never any response on this thread

    at the moment i`v had pop up since 4pm and won`t go till 8pm, disable the dam reminders we all know when tournie starts

    I see the 12.5k Primo is currently being promoted in the scrolled window thingy at the top of the page. Everyone can clearly see the advert/promotion, but nobody is forced to interact with the popup...all in all a MUCH nicer solution, so let's hope it stays this way!

    Oh FFS, I spoke too soon. Just had another annoying popup that wouldn't go until I clicked the "Done" button. I know that promotions make revenue for Sky, but forcing customers to interact with adverts is NOT welcome. I KNOW the Primo starts at 8pm...it's been scrolling across my screen all afternoon. If I wanted to play it, I would of registered for it...

    Hi,

    Can i just ask a few questions on this...

    What browser are you using?

    Does the pop-up appear everytime you navigate to another page?
    Even if you click 'done' ?

    is this just the pop-up or do you have issues with the marquee message at the top of the screen also?

    Browser: Firefox 3.6.17
    Flash version: 11,0,1,98  (recently upgraded - had same problems with V10)
    O.S: Ubuntu Karmic

    Marquee message fine. It gets the point across without being obtrusive.

    The popup comes up several times, despite clicking 'done'...most often when changing pages such as going from lobby to community. It also blocks the lobby until 'done' is clicked and sometimes prevents mouse clicks on game tables until 'done' is clicked.

    So basically, the marquee messages do a fine job but the popups are a PITA because they force user interaction for something we're not even interested in!

    yep am getting this a lot too, use latest firefox also. very annoying when you know you've clicked nothing or closed the  window yet you know it's gona pop up 5min later saying "do you want to leave this window open".
