Don't play online poker, before you play real poker at a poker Venue, you won't feel like winning

    Don't understand the question.

Thanks Inka, but I was looking for something much simpler than that :P

Sorry DanielTeng, we've all been busy having a laugh, and in the process, have been very flippant with your question.

I would disagree with your headline too. Personally, I think playing online is a great introduction to the game, and it's a good idea to start here before going anywhere near a bricks and mortar casino.

The reason I think this, is because for the novice, there is a lot to take in; betting; raising; position; cards; opponent styles; etc., etc. If you throw in all the nuances of live play (shuffling, self-dealing, betting (in turn!) and all the other issues, then I believe it's far better to get an online introduction to the game. Otherwise, it's too easy to go to a live game and get too much wrong.

Hope that helps, welcome to the forum!

How can you not feel like winning?

    I half-agree.

I started playing "live" before playing online BUT, I played with family and people I knew, I don't think an amatuer playing poker for the first time in a casino with players they don't know with years of experience is the best idea for their development in the game. For me, I think it's better for them to play with people they know first, then move onto online and improve their game and then play live in a casino.
