Not at all, i'll give you a clue try look at the merit of the preflop call and the flop shove over a cbettor who looks committed.

Firstly, please do not include Villain's names in the hand history unless they agree to it, it's just not cricket.

Now if you've spent enough time playing the reg in question you'd know that he never leave's the kids in the street.  I don't remember him ever folding after raising to just one raise.  He plays fast, loose and well IMO.  Call pre is fine in line with his playing style.  He understands he'll drop a few buy ins in spots like this.  I'm not all over his play in this hand but it has it's pluses and taking this hand in a vacuum isn't completely fair.  How many times are you C-betting with AK, AJ, Tens, etc?

why i dont agree with putting the player name in, i understand ur frustration.

ive played this guy a few times & stuff like this has happened every time we have been involved in a big pot! nobody has tilted me more in the past than him!

but he seems like a decent lad & he must be doin summat right!

why is he check shoving here?  does he think he has the best hand and is looking to fold out AK? would he play this different if it wasnt 3 way?

Sam's not folding top pair 100bbs deep in a 3b pot.

Your cbet size is too big.

35 into 49 is too big, 3 way?

why's that? The hand played out perfectly for him (with the exception of the guy hitting) and the solid c-bet that makes it clear he's committed to the hand should fold out a lot, right? And the pot's big enough to take down on flop without dramas- if someone does want to play, there's a very good chance you're ahead (as he was).

What would your ideal c-bet be on that flop?

you dont want to look commited with a massive hand and when you c-bet with air it saves you money its just about balancing your bets, i think £20- £25 is ok

Well the board is so dry that we don't need to bet to protect, so our sole aim should be to get stacks in against the biggest range possible. When you have aces on a Q54r board folding out a lot is a bad thing. As you say when stein bets 35 its clear he's committed which is bad because he is never bluffing with the pot size and what he's left back, so he is going to get his chips in against a much narrower range against most players.

I would probably bet ~ 18-19 here, with this kinda size my opponents would think they have fold equity so are more likely to get their stack in lighter, and also it balances my range for when I have AK or some other rubbish I decided to 3bet with and want to take the pot down without becoming pot committed.

nicely explained, i think you can mix the odd press half pot buttons in with made hands because it looks lazy lol
