Play the (overseas) Presenter!

Yes, I finally made it to Finland - six days later than planned!

And, on the flight over, I got to enjoy a "delicious" snack:

For 10 points (with no cash value), can you identify this piece of alleged cuisine?

Anyway, I'm enjoying my brief family holiday in Helsinki and, from 21:00 local time (19:00 GMT), I'll be playing a trio of No Limit Hold'em tournaments on Sky Poker:

19:00  £11  Tikay's Sleepstack
20:00  £22  £4k GTD Double Stack
20:30  £5.50  Take on Tikay

I'll probably give the TSP Classic a miss, as I tend to get tired and lose focus at that time of night and would hate to butcher yet another tournament.  Better to donk off in a cash game, no?  So, as the witching hour approaches, expect me to do my thing at a 10-seater, low-stakes NLHE table.

Until later...

    Hi james.
Glad you arrived safely. I was trying to get a £10 bounty on my head for tonights Tikay Sleepstack, but unfortunately i've had no response to my emails to sky, so looks like it might not happen. I will however still be taking part in your overseas festivities, so good luck.

By the way - It looks like some sort of omelette thingy.............Yuck

I'm guessing that item of food is your airline's 'Vegetarian Option.'  As is standard in all the terms and conditions of airlines, the Vegetarian option is whatever they can find under the wing or wedged between the seats.

    Looks Yummy!

Finnish food? It'll be a herring sandwich.

Finland have herring sarnies, Herring burgers, herring steaks, herring cake, & roast herring on Xmas day.

Or is that Sweden? Or Norway?

    I may be confused.

    You normally are...

    Actually, it's not Finnish food.

As this was a Heathrow-Helsinki flight, the food was supplied by a London-based catering company and is (apparently) an "Italian delicacy."

Surstromming is the "king" of all Scandinavian fish dishes.
I'm pretty sure that it's not that, though, because I believe that it's banned on aeroplanes.

Boom!  Greg has identified ONE of the ingredients!  He's also correct in his observation that it's a sandwich.  But the meat isn't pork and that yellow mess on top isn't an egg...

OK, Greg - I'm going to give you the 10 points.

It's actually a chicken, mozzarella, tomato and pesto ciabatta sandwich.  Hard to believe, I know :-0

    In other news...

Tikay's Sleepstack has begun.  Only 15 runners, but that means I stand a 66% chance of making it to the final table.  Woo-hoo!

Now playing in the 8pm main event as well.

Nothing to report from either tournament.  I've been sitting out for most of the time, due to computer issues.  A restart seems to have done the job for now :)

Apologies for being away from the forum for a while.

I've had strange computer issues this evening which prevented me playing and posting at the same time!

Anyway, quick recap of tonight's tournament action...

I *did* make the final table of Tikay's Sleepstack :-)

Meanwhile, I came 77th in the £4k GTD Double Stack - and 22nd in the Take on Tikay event.

But now it's time for CASH!

I'm at Barnstable - 15p/30p No Limit Hold'em.  There are currently eight free seats.
