UL to Trip5 - I saw 3 way pot you won or rather thought you had won with the arms in the air , Mickjenn out of his seat goin to bar and Nutty tart getting up until the guy with the mic ( dont know his name ) came over and spotted it was a 3 way split Posted by MP33
So it was Dave that noticed it and not the dealer??? Doesnt surprise me!!!!!! There were some terrible dealers for the event who didnt appear to know what they were doing missing people's blinds, scopping the pot to the wrong winner and generally didnt have a clue. Didnt spoil the event though it was fantastic as ever!!!!
What an event!!!!! TeamKnightPlop productions present.......
Friday night, 10 Tikay impersonators (think Elvis but better) hit the streets of Newcastle shaking hands with every local we meet on the way, "I'm Tony Kendall" "Who's Tony Kendall?" is the standard reply
Got to the casino and the 10 of us in a line make our way to greet our hero, timing is everything as we walk in just as Tikay has sat down at the tournament, the old man of poker is gobsmacked, but light bulb lights in his head! With 11 Tikays in this tournament he has a good chance of victory!! (he got 1-2)
The tournament is gruelling, 185 runners and with no antes this could be a long night, I am on a table with SPT champion elect Gliterbabe and an amazing hand ensues.....
I pick up J10 and see a flop heads up with GB, J94 I check to induce a bet and Wayne slow play checks, turn is another J, happy days so I check and GB shoves, I insta call with my set J but am stunned to see Wayne has 99 a turned boat, I am dealing this hand so am drawing to the paired board or quads, I river the 4 !!! Of course Wayne takes the beat as the gentleman he is!
Armed with the luck of MickJenn I progress in this tournament to final table which includes Eyeman and JamieLou, I am shortest stack with just 4BB, I doubled a few times and suddenly have a playable stack again, I ended up shoving with A7 into Eyeman's 99 and luckily flop an ace to double again.
More good fortune later and myself, Eyeman and a local 18 yr old chap agree to split the top 3 money, as chip leader I took £900, Graham took £675 and the young lad £675, cracking money for a live tournament and my best result ever!
Saturday, TeamKnightPlop in Orange shirts adorned Aspers and took on Sky's finest, we took an early exit when Jaegerplop ran KK into AK preflop and A binked, I made a solid start doubling early to 10k, Eyeplop went early doors (Friday night exertions prob didn't help) Foxyplop bowed out when he lost 2 close pots in a row. SuperShazplop exited soon after and Yorkieplop followed suit, the team ran 4 strong for a while and then we lost Hoggplop and Geekplop leaving SirSolar and Trippyplop shortstacked. I lost a 60/40 flip to exit 53rd and Irene trooped on for 27th.
With TKP all out quicker than the Australian test team we set up some SNG's with Trevor Harris and had a fun night finishing well after the main event.
We all railed the FT and gave our 2 faves JamieLou and GB good wishes, never in doubt though and a fab result for Wayne and Jamie - well done you two!!
No Luton for me so look forward to Leeds !!!!!!!!!!! SPT FTW
My first SPT and it was brilliant! I really enjoyed it and it was fab meeting lots of you that I've played with for what seems a long time now - thanks everyone it was awesome!
A huuuuge congrats to Sir Solar and Eyeplop for coming 1,2 on the Friday and to GB for a brilliant comeback to win on the Saturday, and WOW just how good was JamieLou!!! Very well played both of you!
Wd to everyone who final tabled escpecially Glitterbabe - I know he got some luck but top top player I Got up to 12 thou then lost 10 of it to pre -flop all in with my AQ off vs A10 off - No tens but a heart on the turn + river - i didn,t see it at the time but before reaching out to gather my chips noticed 4 hearts on the board looked again at my hand - no hearts - ovsiously he had one - Gutted Another good day tho and learning experience + best venue so far UL to Trip5 - I saw 3 way pot you won or rather thought you had won with the arms in the air , Mickjenn out of his seat goin to bar and Nutty tart getting up until the guy with the mic ( dont know his name ) came over and spotted it was a 3 way split Posted by MP33
LOL thanks MP...instead of trebling through with aj v a10 v a10 i ended up with an extra 200 chips...to be fair though we should have spotted it ourselves!!!
In Response to Re: SPT Newcastle Live Update thread. Leg 2 of the 2010-11 Tour : LOL thanks MP...instead of trebling through with aj v a10 v a10 i ended up with an extra 200 chips...to be fair though we should have spotted it ourselves!!! xx Posted by TRIP5
Yes 2 Both TRIP5 and Solar suffered - it a TKP conspiracy? An area51 thread? Oh no that was the sng tables wasn't it!
I also think CT won the closest bet. Someone did post 42nd and 27,000 chips but this was posted after sky had announced the competition to be closed!! If that had been posted 5 minutes earlier it would have won!!
Just wanted to say Thank You to Sky for a wonderful day and well done for all the hard work you put in to making it a great event.
Was really nervous on my 1st SPT and even more so when I realised had Tikay on my table but everyone was really friendly and it was a great table. Tikay is a gentleman and made me laugh with his antics.
I finished 22nd and some of the hands i played were entertaining to say the least. Thought I was going out of the comp a few times but managed to pull through and even quadrupled up on one hand before tea.
Thank you again and now I have the bug I want to go to the next leg lol
WOW!!!!!! Finally arrived home after a gruelling 7hr drive must be mad, but in fairness if you haven't been to one of these events, then you don't know what your missing... They really are the best and well done Sky....
Once again and I really can't say it enough a truly fantastic weekend, so many great people and players that come from all over the country to all meet in one place....
Win/lose or draw I love these events so to win one at last is a nice bonus....The final table was a cagey affair and everyone played terrific... I had my fair share of some bad luck earlier on in the tournament and found myself down to 1700 chips blinds 400/800... So too bounce back from that took a load of run good luck ....!!!! I was feeling pretty confident when we were down to 4 players and the rungood like mickGODjenn was continuing....To get HU with Jamielou was just great she played really really well and if I wasn't such a luckbox she would have won.....
Well done again to everyone at Sky for putting these great events on , you all work tirelessly and I can't thank you all enough....and of course a big thank you to the Wife and everyone one else who railed us all on the final table .. many many thanks ....
By 4am most of my Knights had departed apart from myself, Machka, Scouse_Red & DT - We were now down to the dregs in the casino, so I gathered them all up and challenged them to a one pound sit and go....we had some right fish on the table too including Sky_Dave, Sky_Adam, Dantb, Mike1975, Jamielou, onlyonebennnnnuttteeeeerrrrrrr...getting the picture??
Dantb had to be staked into the game as he (allegedly) only had the sort of money that crinkled ;o)
...after the button had conveniently passed Blandy by he decides that it should be a DMC game...DMC = Dealer Must Call...
Dantb was on the button first...ran like a god - calling the first DMC blind then turning over A....A lol!
I managed to take Blandy for about 4squid in flop bets too...higher red than 8 flopped A LOT!!
Dantb eventually took it down for £11.00 then decided to donate his winnings by playing 'the blind game' and dealt everyone 1 hand...the cards were turned over 1 card at a time, one player at a time with winner of the hand taking all... Sky_Adam is such a lucky fishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ;o)
I have never laughed so much at a poker table...funniest game ever!!!!
THIS and the rest of the superb weekend is why I LOVE SPT's...Unfortunately I won't be going to Luton but can't wait for Leeds!!!!
Thanks to everyone for working so hard behind the scenes to make it such a memorable event...Excellent job Sky!!! The future's bright...the future's orange xx

Well done Debs good post. Thought you played really well, it was a nice table to be on for the 1st couple of hours, then after tea seemed to change ...... if you get me!!!
I just wanted to post to say congratulations to you all for making what was, for me at least, the most enjoyable SPT so far. We all know Wayne is a very capable player and I am sure the title is a nice little item to add to his poker resume. Congratulations go to Jamielou as well - I know Tikay for one thinks VERY highly of her tournament game and I have to say I was really impressed with the way she played.
A special mention to two other final tablists. Riddla managed to get a very big stack early on in the tournament and managed to glide through to the final table from there. I think he went a little card dead at the wrong time, but a third place finish is a very solid effort indeed!
I also hope we see more of Run Flaming on the site - she dominated her table with 27 players remaining and took a very sick beat with AA v AK on the final table to effectively end her chances of winning the tournament. Any quibbling for her though? Not one iota - took the beat with class and that's the sign of a fine poker player in my opinion.
Of course, these events are only as good as you lot make them. The players are very much the focus of Sky Poker and I think these tournaments are some of the most enjoyable you can take part in. I loved commentating on the event and was impressed by not just the play but the good spirit at the tables. Oh, and inventing 'DMC' at 4.30am was something of a personal brag. What a game! Although we need to make sure Dan doesn't get Kings on the button again. Run better?
SPT Newcastle = Epic. SPT Luton will be just as good I am sure. I just fear for the locals if the Ploppers all turn up as Lisa-Marie Long...
I add my congratulations to GliterBabe and Jamielou. It couldn't happen to 2 nicer people. The Sky team were 1st class as always and I extend my thanks to all of them. As for Dave behind the microphone - I think he is a natural. And thanks to everybody who attended to make the day very enjoyable, as they always seem to be. Long may it continue.

Absolutely - I loved it all too and one of the things that made me laugh the most Dollie was you, when I told you Delta was a bit shocked when he met me as he had got the impression I was about 20ish and I said see, you never know till you actually meet people what they are like and you said you had that problem when guys meet you for the first time too - priceless :-) -xXx-
Great event just recovering now.... I guess all the hotels were delighted that everyone stayed on at Aspers to all hours of the morning lol, got back to Dublin yesterday shattered....this was my first sky tour and also have the bug.
A very well run event wd done team SKY. Also it was great to meet lots of players and the atmosphere was great. I got knocked out 5 mins before the night tourney, I have to say the locals were very friendly and the banter at the tables was great.....Roll on the next one well done to all who cashed.

Please do not give tripplop and jaegerplop ideas... the last thing you want to see is me, in a red dress.
