Advice needed for playing against LUNATICS.

How do you play against lunatics that will call any raise you make and chase everything to the river?

Basically I'm talking about my local live game. It's generally the same 20 odd guys and they mostly seem to play a style so contradictory to anything I've ever learnt about the game it's impossible to read anything into bet sizes or actions or anything.

I've risen 5xbb with KK to be taken down with 10,8o. I've had people calling my big raises without looking at their cards. Back door 2 pair draws seem to be a notable tactic. Nearly every pot is contested at least 4 ways. I've lost count of how many times AA has been cracked.  And this was just last night. Argghhhh.

How do I adapt to this, quite frankly, terrible play? Do I also become a serial limper/caller? Are any hands even worth raising?

Please no-one say this is the type of players you want to play against as you'll eventually win because believe me, I don't and I'm not.

    welcome to live poker

    what mistakes are they making?

they call too much and with speculative hands

    how do you punish that?

have a tight value range pre and raise massive, bet the lot early on in the streets, profits. ez

btw you want to be playing with these kind of people....

    Keep refreshing it.

    Keep clicking "join table"

    Keep taking my money.

Tried that after being knocked out but couldn't even get a line at the bottle-top. Maybe I'm just running bad.

    Grrr @ final sentence.

Raise too big and they fold. Then I get blinded out waiting for premiums to shove with as it's not deep enough stacked. Maybe just need to find a happy medium bet size.

    lol

Double advantage in that you can get cast as a villain in an area 51 thread too. Mucho Thanko for that dude. That's one of my life ambitions ticked off. Didn't think I'd ever manage it tbh. A4 ftw.

I would suggest you are undervaluing some hands, over valueing other hand strengths both pre and on the flop, are not realising just how few hands you see in a session so just how much time you expect to be sat there getting dealt trash.

what format of game are you playing, give some example hands not ... 'oh well one guy raises T8 other calls ai on 853flop and caller mucks'..... stack sizes, rough positions, reads, raise amounts etc all help making decisions. give hands you folded but that you weren't sure about both pre and on the flop.

Never thought I'd hear the word "Seriously" and the phrase "listen to Beane" in the same sentence....  ;O)

Mind you he makes a good point
